About five years ago, Snoop Dogg decided to enter the mixtape game. As with anything that the Doggfather touched, he had to do it big! With his „Welcome 2 Tha Chuuch“ mixtape series , which spawned a total of ten mixtapes, Snoop Dogg left his mark in the mixtape game for good and even ended up releasing an official „Welcome 2 Tha Chuuch – Tha Album“ via Koch Records in 2007.

While most of the early Chuuch mixtapes had Snoop and his Dogg Pound crew rapping over other artist’s beats, the later releases featured all original production.

In 2009, Snoop Dogg has decided to take another stab at the Chuuch series, but this time not in form of a mixtape, but an official compilation record, entitled „Bacc 2 Tha Chuuch Vol. 1“. This project features the usual suspects, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Daz, some familiar faces such as Ray J, Damani, Uncle Chucc, Tha Twinz, and it will also be introducing the public to a series of new acts that Snoop has been working with, such as the Hustle Boyz, the TC’s, Tha Raw Doggz and singer Chris Starr.

The production on „Bacc 2 Tha Chuuch“ was entirely handled by Snoop himself under his Niggarachi moniker, except for one song, which was produced by 1500 Or Nothin’ and was originally recorded for Ego Trippin’. The compilation has a nice blend of the vintage West Coast sound, which paired with the new talent showcased on the album equals a fresh sound that both old school and new school heads can appreciate.

Dubcnn has two exclusive joints available for ya'll to preview. The first one features The TC's (Twenty Crips) and Snoop Dogg himself, it's called "Shut U Down", check it out below:

The TC's - Shut U Down (ft. Snoop Dogg)

The second track is the aformentioned 1500 Or Nothin' produced track called "6 A.M.", which features singers Uncle Chucc, Ray J and Chris Starr:

„Bacc To Tha Chuuch Vol. 1“ will be released digitally via Doggystyle Digital / Gangsta Grooves on August 4th.

i see they've been lazy on the artwork : same cover as "tha chuuch album" except the colors are clearer.

Okka

I wanna hear this but i have a bad feelin' about those Niggarachi beats. Joe Cool should have made a cover for this, kinda stupid to be re-usin' an old cover.

Actually the beat on "Shut You Down" is nice, way better than anythin' else Snoop Dogg has produced (except for some Death Row songs)

Hard, he definitely stepped it up on this one. Be interesting to hear that Ego Tripping left over, if only for the 1500 or Nothin production

Haha true, didn't even listen to it :P. Definitely sounds like Ego tripping, better than some of the tracks that actually made the album too, beats sick

Not a diss or anything of this sort but I've got the impression that Snoop gets better and better at producing and less and less good at rapping.

Anyway, Shut you down is cool
