How many times do people need telling?! Dre has a legal injunction over that material being released, it cant be without his permission...dont ever expect it to come out legally or officially.
With the big rerelease of The Chronic, and if they are able to release a few unreleased Dre tracks, it might create some buzz for Detox. It would most likely help Dre more than it would hurt him to have these unreleased songs come out. It would probably be in Dre's best interest to let wideawake release them...but he won't.
Suge is gone and Dre stands to make good money off his unreleased stuff so give me one good reason that these shouldnt be released. They wont affect his work with Detox one bit and they require zero effort from Dre other than signing a few papers. How will this hurt Dre's career?
Can you link me to the Dre interview where he says all those things?

That was the previous agreement between Death Row and Dr Dre---however, the very nature of filling for bankruptcy, or legal insolvency, means all previous agreements, performances and executory contracts become (generally) unenforceable once a bankruptcy case has been filed. The idea being bankruptcy seeks to relieve the debtors contractual obligations citing insolvency-based termination due to financial condition (of the debtor). This is why Amaru freaked the fuck out when Death Row filed Bankruptcy and filed 150,000 motions staying their anniversary complaint that Death Row had no right to release, license, sell or distribute Tupac's unreleased music even though they have it in their possession. So with respect to the unreleased Dre recordings, there is no current contractual agreement precluding their release like there was back in 2000 (with The Chronic 2000) but there are the legalities about releasing the music without agreement. I really don't know enough about entertainment law but I'm assuming compensation needs to be agreed upon and some form of Songwriter Agreement or Producer Agreement needs to be signed. All that is well within Dre's ability to do. What's going on here is Dre either 1) doesn't want unreleased music that he didn't feel was up to his standards being released or 2) doesn't want new unreleased music stealing Detox's thunder. That is reasonable for Dre's own tracks pre-detox I'll give him that. But I swear to God if he pulls this shit after Detox is released on the unreleased Doggystyle songs I'll drive to LA and pull a Suge Knight on his ass myself. We're getting Next Episode come hell or high water.
