inviting real comments on the sound quality of chronic relit
« on: September 01, 2009, 08:54:53 PM »
there are several threads on this remastered release and not one proper comment on the actual sound quality. am i missing something ??? i'm thinking that a little more detail than just 'its better' or 'its louder' might provoke some interesting discussion.

i'd like to know what people think of the sound quality on this release compared to both the og chronic and the earlier remaster. also, has anyone got the chronic on vinyl and how does that sound in comparison?

i know wat ur talking about; why don't you just give Blasphemy a 15 second snippet of Let Me Ride instead? since you dont want to give out the whole song.

oh, why don't you give him a 15 second snippet of Let Me Ride instead? since you dont want to give out the whole song.

the CD burner on my laptop won't read CD's and my new laptop won't be arriving for another 2 weeks

but even then, why waste my time when he can go cop the CD and easily buy the CD himself?

if u let a few others have a lil sample maybe they'll be like "oh wow this sounds much better! im gonna cop this now! thanks Hack Wilson!"

damn someones mad. i got the grouprip and dropped a few comments based on that. the physical version won't arrive for a while (importing) so i thought some americans who already copped it might be able to provide some feedback.

stop making duplicate topics

not really a duplicate topic, i don't see any actual comments in that other thread about the quality of the release, aside from "oh got damn am i noticing a quality difference in these"....

Honestly many people on this forum are delusional.  Yes, this remastered version probably sounds a bit better.  I listened to it in my truck which has a stock stereo.  I don't have a multi thousand dollar sound system.  I'm also not even really that picky between 128 and 320.  I listen to pretty much all my music in mp3 format these days.

Seriously some people are treating this as if they have been listening to a cassette tape of the chronic for years and all of a sudden got this new format, just invented for this album.  Yeah it sounds a bit louder and crisper.  Would I cream my panties over it like some people on here?  No.

Some people just are very passionate about projects getting supported, and so they get their feelings hurt very easily.  The problem is that their emotions clog up their logical thinking.  Even if you take 1000 members on this forum who would just download it rather than buy it...what fucking difference is that going to make?  If 1000 sales makes or breaks the future of wide awake, then let me tell you...there is no future for wide awake.

Yes, I bought this to support them so they continue to release more music.  But I understand why someone would not buy this if they already own a copy.  That is completely understandable.  Wide awake spent millions of dollars buying death row's catalog so I would think they are smart enough to understand this too...especially in todays economy and the way music sales go.

Either 1 of 2 things

1.He went retarded the moment this dropped, hes scared people are going to just torrent it and not support. So ALL his logic went out the window, He won't drop snippets or anything so people can compare the quality. He say's its better and tells people to say its better. This makes me think 1 of 2 things. Either A. The quality is the same, and by posting a snippit he is a afraid people won't buy it. Or 2. Well He wants people to support real hip-hop, and if no one buys it cause they think he'll just leak the album he won't do it.

2. Someone else stole his account, cause Hack hasn't really been retarded before. All his shit reminds me of Ikke, Muthfukka, and C-blue.

On a different note.. I'm very satisified with the sound quality of the '92 Chronic version. I like it when sound levels are lower like how most albums were back in the day.

Leave the mastering to the experts and people who originally did it..

I agree 100%. Louder isnt better it's just more compressed and the life is squeezed out of the sound.

Listen to an album from back in the day and then to a new hiphop album, the new album will give you ear fatigue after 1 spin lol

Real talk, the engineer over at wide awake is crazy. If you turn the cd all the way up, its distorted on the top end to the point that you can't even hear the music at all. The mixing sucks imo. :'(
I produce music my self I  should know. Its like its got no limiter and if they do they slammed it on the master bus.
Everybody is wondering what Barack is going to do for us for the next 8 years, what are you going to do for yourself the next 8 years?
