Dr Dre need's to die so he can top MJ

On point lol!

Anyways, it would be interesting to compare Re-Lit's sales vs say.. "2Pac: Nu Mixx Klassics" which got bashed heavily.

imo it was a horrible idea to start off with Death Row's flagship release.  They should have just left it alone, started off with something else.
but there isn't much left.
they have Snoop Dogg & 2pac, but it's not like they'll go diamond with it

Yeah its a tough situation, especially if you got no artists or videos to backup your releases. I mean, how are the general public gonna get into Death Row 1999-2004 releases if they have no idea who the artists really are (I mean, the non-diehardss who still buy hip hop records). This project was kinda fail to begin with... as mentioned earlier, what would compel someone to buy a re-released version of the Chronic if most fans own it. I believe new fans would rather purchase the OG version (if possible) or even the Death Row UK remastered versions with the OG graphics.

Even while owning material that could sell (Snoop leftovers, and the whole Death Row camp in the 90s), you deserve to fail if you can't market such hot material right.

I agree, also add N.I.N.A. to that but the longer they don't release the material the more it loses value.  Looking back, Suge didn't do such a bad job when he sold 300k with Dogg Pound "2002" and 200k with Too Gangsta For Radio.  This is why Dre didn't buy the material when he could have.  Dre knows his legacy is cemented with that album whether or not he goes to the grave with the publishing rights.  He also knows it already ran its course and no magic touch is gonna make 'The Chronic' sell another million albums, especially when most can just download "Nuthin But a G Thang" and "Dre Day."

How many people did you expect to buy a product like this? It's 2009 nobody buys CD's anymore (they're vintage, lol). It's only for the true fans and being die hard fans they already have a copy of "The Chronic". So this re-re-release it's only for people who can understand and appreciate the quality of a re-remastered version.
Snoop Dogg will do better number but nothin' more than 10K first week.

First off, they don't get paid by the radio stations to play old Death Row singles, when the radio plays the single, it benefits the record label so they send them singles and hope the radio will play it.

You get paid royalties every time your song is played on the radio, regardless of whether you had to send the actual copy to them free to try to get them to play it. And you get royalties when it's used in movies, video games, tv shows, etc - they have a lot of classics in the catalog, so they'll get a reasonable amount steadily just from that

i'm glad it never happened.
then again, they missed out on a controversial song about kids, featuring Eminem
