DEREK JETER ties LOU GEHRIG for most hits as a YANKEE

It's not like he did it in less ABs. He's up there, maybe at the very top, for most ABs as a Yank, and by a lot when compared to the greats, so why shouldn't he have the hits record? Is he the Yanks best hitter ever? No.

it's def not the biggest accomplishment in the world but Jeter could end up with 4,000 hits by the time he retires

I hate Jeter and think he is one of the most overrated players in the game but 3000 hits is something to brag about.  Breaking the all time hit record for the NY Yankees is something to brag about.  So what Lou Gehrig did it in less AB's.  You disagree with people just for the sake of disagreeing.

jeter is over-rated in a sense that he simply does not compare with Honus Wagner as the best SS ever  (nobody does) but yet some of my blind Yankee bretheren will treat him as "The best ever"



but he's very under-rated in the sense that he's one of the best offensive shortstops who anchored 4 world championship teams, is destined for 3200-3500 career hits and a .310 ish average for his career when all's said
