Smoke Enough Bud was a Jewell song, from 1996, and produced by Snoop! Why the fuck would you put this with Dre's 92 album?

According to that Lara Lavi interview, John Payne was in charge of selecting and remastering the bonus tracks for "Chronic: Re-Lit."  Apparently that won't be the case though, for all releases going forward.

A&R is the last thing they need.  They have no artists.

what you worried about blkb ,...
you aint got a problem with ray-j and cassy davis being on a warren g album,
but you got a problem with jewell being on the chronic?
jewell shits on ray-j, and jewell was already all over the chronic.
none of the bonus tracks have dre on it,
coz they are not allowed to put any extra tracks on it that have dre rapping on it.
re-releasing the chronic wasnt the best idea in the first place.

Well, Honestly I doubt they'll sign any new artist until they have a good amount released from the vaults. IMO I think Death Row will probably have only 1 use left. Releasing unreleased material lol.

Young Dan Iza

i thought it was a good addition this track is def one that i was waiting on getting in better quality! im glad i bought it now!

Wideawake is relatively new and they themselves will probably acknowledge an error or two made thus far.  Having said that, I think they would do great if they would open up a forum this way they can get a better feel on what it is people want.  Following that, I would definitely raise the bar in terms of getting better promotion as no matter how good your product is if the people don't know about you it simply won't meet expectations.  Just my opinion though...

Real deathrow fans are happy to hear the track, jewell was an original inmate

I thought it was a good addition, been waiting like 2 years to hear it in cdq plus Dre was into putting out r+b acts even though he never did on DR

I agree. although, i've been waiting like 8 or 9 years to hear it in cdq.  unfortunately, the Re-Lit release wasn't mixed properly.  don't believe me?  listen the intro of "You Thought" from Tha Doggfather where you can hear "Smoke Enough Bud", then listen to the Re-Lit version... there is a VAST difference.

The version on Tha Doggfather is how it should have been released on Re-Lit.  oh well, its still nice to have the full untagged version

Let's hope it stays that way.

A&R's dont just sign artists... they act as a medium between artist and label....

What the hell do they need artist for? They're a label built around releasing unreleased material.
