Slaughterhouse On Stage Tonight @ 50 Cent Concert
« on: October 03, 2009, 03:11:54 PM »
I didn't see any threads on this and I know that Slaughterhouse isn't exclusively West Coast, but Crooked I is a huge part of this group, so I figured I'd post this topic.

I was wondering if anyone heard about Slaughterhouse performing tonight in New York at 50 Cent's "This Is 50 Festival" tonight and what your thoughts on this situation were.

Things are picking up really quickly with Slaughterhouse, especially with Shady Records' interest in them as well.

Very interesting times. Could it be that all the grinding is finally paying off?

First Snoop and Crooked squash the "beef" this past summer and now Eminem and 50 Cent taking notice... crazy!

So, what do people think? Would this be the kind of attention that you wouldn't want Slaughterhouse / Crooked I getting or do you think that it's a good look and a blessing when it comes down to it?

some people will probably say this isn't good, it's 50 cent etc. but these guys would be stupid not to perform there under one of raps big names, slaughterhouse need to expand their fanbase. This is good exposure, it's not like they are selling out by doing it.
So is the shady records thing still a rumour Effex,or does this have some weight to it now?

Thats a good look for them. I think a lot of people haven't really been taking Slaughterhouse all that seriously cause they are perceived as mixtape/internet rappers by most. If they start performing with 50 and sign to Shady maybe it will show people that they are looking to make some major moves and not be constricted to internet blog sites

Right now it's only a rumor that they have signed.

However, the talks and interest in signing them is fact.

Joell & Royce Da 5'9 made this all possible. It's good exposure IMO, and about selling out? They had Fatman Scoop on their album. Any exposure is good exposure at this point. Joe Budden has been on singles with Busta Rhymes and my ex Christina Milian so he's done his share of mainstream. It's all good

Correct there. That Ashanti remix though can be passed off as a B-Side throw away though, but with the names, he's worked alongside many top names, not just musically either. He's wrote some songs for some very big names that have been in the commercial lime light

Considering Crooked I is a WEST COAST emcee, I figured that a thread pertaining to the group he is a member in could be placed on this board.

Sorry to offend you.

I think this is a suitable place for it, based on endless enthusiasm shown by West Coast fans anticipating the growth of one of its own - Crooked I, and because he's now apart of that group, that group are now going to be the focal point in that growth phase, so West Coast fans will be looking at Slaughterhouse achievements and success to ensure that one of its own in there is successful.

Not to mention the ripple effect that it could have towards Crooked I's own click if he manages to get exposure on a higher scale increasing moderately known West Coast mixtape artists

Exactly.  This is good exposure for them, imagine if they managed to snag a Dre beat for their next album.
