i can find you a million ppl who think Dan Marino was the best QB ever

so there goes your PEyton arguement

well your whole statement was "he knows how to win".

i just replied with an honest answer & a honest thought that the greatest QB to ever take a snap should be able to win more than one.

i mean one of the shittiest QB's of all time in the New England region won 3. ;D

lol i realize that my brother

brady is a top 10 QB for sure

but SUPERBOWLS cannot be the ultimate way to decide who's best because teams are not built equally

heres my top 10

Montana
Elway
Manning
Graham
Unitas
Favre
Bradshaw
Young    (Steve, not Vince)
Brady
Marino

i agree. 8)

stats are stats, it doesn't matter how you get it done, as long as it gets done. 8)

So then where's Aikman? Name me one QB that came closer to 4 straight SBs than him. All these dweebs that buy into the QB wins the game myth never seem to mention him. By those standards he owned Young and yet Young gets a higher ranking usually. By your rankings Aikman should be ahead of Elway, Manning, Unitas, Marino, Favre, and toe to toe with Brady. That's why I can't take you guys seriously. You don't watch performances, you watch commercials. Brady isn't one bit better than Aikman, so wherever Aikman falls on anyone's list Brady should be there too.

i don't mean winning, i just mean stats.

Tom Brady has the most TDs in a single season, you say he throws the ball 5 or less yards, but nobody asks you how you did it as long as it is done.

if you choke up on a baseball bat & hit .370, nobody is going to say "that's wack", you choke up, your bat speed is faster, etc. you're just a great hitter.

we just believe in different things; you try to take it to a level of your opinion of their natural ability.

so & so has a better arm, a more accurate arm, therefore he is more talented & the better player; i just can't see it that way.

I don't hate Brady. I hate the fans that hype him up. If everyone just shut up about the guy I wouldn't say shit. I cheered for him in 01 against the Rams. I cheered for him in 04 against the Eagles. Shit I even cheered for him in 07 against the Chargers. I could give a fuck about Brady. I just can't stand stupid football fans that think QBs are the be all end all of the game.

Of course you mean winning. Brady has one season of better stats than Manning. ONE! The other ten seasons are Manning. But Brady is better because he wins SBs in your mind. Fuck the natural ability of the arm, fuck the accuracy of the pass. When I see two QBs and one gets 3 seconds to throw the ball in tight spots more often than not, and the other gets 5 seconds to throw the ball to a screen play or a wide open man more often than not I realize that one guys job is harder than the others. When I see Mr 5 seconds not perform well at all when he doesn't get his time or his guys aren't getting open, and I see Mr 3 seconds still make the throws in 2.5 seconds I know who is playing better.

My baseball analogy was better but you ignored it, and it was pitchers. Choking up on the bat and hitting 370 would be all up to the player and if it was so easy everyone that's not a slugger would do it. My analogy was pitchers, and I'll use two separate examples of showing who the better pitcher is in the scenario.

1) Two pitchers in the World Series on opposite teams. Pitcher A plays games 1, 4, and 6. Pitcher B plays games 2, 5, and 7. Pitcher A is 0-3 with a 1.5 ERA and the team lost 1-0, 1-0, and 2-1 in his games, while Pitcher B gets a 3-0, winning games 9-8, 10-7, and 8-4. There's no question who the better pitcher was in the series. And just because some jackass only looks at wins and rings as justification doesn't change the fact that Pitcher A is an ace, and Pitcher B is a lucky piece of shit.

2) The other example is the difference between two great games by pitchers. 1 is shut out pitch, with 1 hit, and an error but 25 Ks. The other is a perfect game with 3 Ks, and 8 all star fielding plays consisting of an over the wall Homerun rob by the CF, a leaping foul territory diving catch, and a bullet armed outfield ball to mid right field where the runner was caught at 1st. Yeah he's got the perfect game but anyone that knows baseball knows that the dude with 25 fucking strike-outs pitched the better game on that day, and if both guys were being scouted on that same day the scouts would know who they should pick up based on the days performance.

Basically it's like this, the whole talk of the town a couple years ago was who would you pick first in the NFL to be on your team if you could choose any player in the NFL, and everyone was debating either Brady or Manning, and to me that's like debating Maris or Mantle. If both Manning and Brady were picked up by the same team tomorrow and battled for the job Manning would win it out 100 of 100 times because he's that much better of a QB. Willie Mays plays in the outfield can only get a pitcher so far, in the end the guy with the lower era, more strike-outs, and less run support takes the starting job. The guy who plays better in the worst conditions is more valuable to me than the guy who plays better in the best conditions. I'll take Manning on my team in 05 against the Steelers where they lost in the playoffs than Brady a couple weeks ago where he hit 5 TDs in the 2nd quarter against the Titans. Because I know than when the chips are down and nothing is going your way Manning can still stand in there and deliver a great game. And not throw 3 shitty punts to Moss with 30 seconds left and 3 TOs when you're only down by three.

That's my point. Brady played on a team with a revolutionary offensive system, and a super star defense, with what people call one of the greatest coaches of all time, and still the three wins were judged by FGs. Aikman won each of his rings by two scores or more.

I am not arguing for Aikman. He was a good QB on a great team and made the most of it. Just like Brady.

Maybe that's why he walked right through the playoffs three times and then took his rings with ease. While Brady had to rely on some miracle kicks.
