the ixing isnt that bad. og is pretty bad but the rest are definitely decent, no tthe best but still listenable. maybe an audio engineer would cringe at that shit or something but you guys arent audio engineers

makes me angry that they've fucked up this music, now there's no way it'll ever be heard in a properly remastered form, ever :oi:

how much more bitching & crying do we have to listen to really, seriously y'all need to change ur skirts into a pair of pants cause y'all are actin like hoez & are ungrateful....y'all lucky you even hearing this shyt...

you know what you are right. there is always reason to be grateful for free unreleased music.

that is unless you actually shelled out money on this release only to find it sounded like a distorted bootleg. digital release only would have been more appropriate.

Exactly, nobody/few people are gonna buy this or ANY of the "new" DeathRow shit coming out whether it's 2Pac or Dr. Dre or both together doing an album.  ALL of this music is over 10 years old, of course it has replay value but no value as far as purchasing it bcuz it's too old and most importantly it's downloadable.  Something like this coming out in 2003/2004 would've been the shit and right on time but now Snoop's newer shit just clearly goes in on his older shit now.  if u think tracks like "eat a dick" and "doggystyle" or "fallin' asleep" are better than ANYTHING or Most of the shit Snoop's put out in the past 10 years then u just don't know shit about music and ur opinion just doesn't matter and ur trippin.

i dont wanna come across as 1 of those bi-polar ass supporters but i gotta keep it 100 and call it like i see it.  DeathRow-Wideawake should just stick to digital only releases.  putting out table scraps on a CD isn't gonna make people get all excited over again.

u want a true Snoop Doggy Dogg "Lost Sessions" u want to put:

01 - Smoke On
02 - Doggystyle - ReSped
03 - Fallin' Asleep On DeathRow - ReSped
04 - Gz Up Hoez Down
05 - Nigga Named Dave
06 - Every Single Day (Original Version)
07 - The Genie
08 - Funk Wit' Ya Brain/Dogg Collar
09 - Quite Obvious
10 - Got To Do Wrong
11 - Caught Up
12 - Life's Hard

http://limelinx.com/files/993f0b3607c5586b53acd99acbdaa485  Re-Sped.   i can kinda see why it sounds the way it do now.  the audio just squanders too much (i have this sped to 103 and 100 is the standard)

If you were to hear what these songs SHOULD sound like properly mixed and mastered, and then compare it to what WideAwake put out, I think you will have a different opinion. Pop in your Doggystyle CD and listen to the quality of the sound you are hearing. Then pop in Lost sessions and put on the song Doggystyle, and it will sound like an amateur, rough draft at best mix.

No reverb on the vocals, no eq'ing on any of the drums, instruments, or vocals, and some of the worst jobs of mixing levels I have EVER heard on a released album. This is Death Row Records we are talking about here, there is a legacy behind it. To put out an album that sounds like Lost Sessions is a slap in the face to the fans.

Look at Dead Man Walking, and the bonus tracks on Snoop's Greatest Hits. Those songs all sound CLEAN AS FUCK. And if you compare them to how they sounded on Smokefest, it's day and night. They should've done something like that for Lost Sessions. Get a real producer and a real engineer in there to touch up these tracks. I believe it was Hutch who did the work on Dead Man Walking. Why not hire him again or somebody capable of doing the same job as he would? I can't imagine it would cost them much more, if more at all, than what they are paying to have these songs "mixed" and mastered.

I'm against remixing tracks, but sometimes it's completely necessary to change things around from their original form. These are rough drafts, and they left them that way.

I can barely hear the lyrics in some of these songs, the beat is way to over bearing, who mixed this shit?

the mixing on mine sounds fine

maybe you should take a q-tip and get the semen outta your ear

The mixing is ass, I even played it to my friend who listens to Heavy Metal and he can tell the difference.

i can find a few bad sections but its not like you can't HEAR the lyrics or vocals or anything.

now, certainly if someone like Dre had mixed it the shit would sound much better i'll give ya that.

i'm still disapointed they didn't just fucking save "SMOKE ON" and "POOR YOUNG DAVE" for this release to make it better :(   oh well

the mixing wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, it wasn't the best but I still was feelin' most of the tracks

it's just dope we get to hear the material which either wouldn't have been released ever or God knows how long it would have taken after to leak

The mixing problems are very noticeable. I don't know much about audio from an engineering perspective but about ten seconds into the Doggystyle track, I could tell something was off.

the DAT reel is 16 years old buddy, who knows how good condition they were even kept in

i'm sure the mastering coulda been better  but its not like it's ass quality    it's much better than what we had before and I'm glad for that.

u wanna hear a great song ruined by being in ass quality?  go peep 2pac "my dying day"      THAT is bad quality lol

The mastering was golden. It has fuck all to do with mastering. Brian does his job and so do the rest of Bernie's staff. I don't want to hear bootleg quality songs on an official release. My question is, who's fucking golden idea was it to replace some ass mixer's name with a fake name? LOL. Also, it doesn't matter about the condition. Trust me, I heard MP3 rips of the intro that were better quality than the retail CD! My Bad Day sounds like it was ripped from a trashcan because it was purposely degraded. This was too by the mixer/engineer. Lol.

If the problem were with the reel, the vocals would be cut up in places. The audio itself isn't choppy in most cases. The instrumental, background vocals, and main vocals are not properly balanced so the beat is drowning out the lyrics on most of these songs. It's consistent on a lot of these tracks, even the slightly newer ones. It's not like this is the first time, a studio has put out unreleased music from 15-20 years ago. 16 years is nothing. If they can make HD quality versions of movies from the 30's, they can make a CD-quality version of a song from 1992, especially when they have access to the master reels. They're not pulling the source material from a fucking demo tape here.
