There are some stupid ppl on here... for real....A man is dead...a little girl doesn't have her father anymore....a mother is mourning a son, and all u ppl can argue about is if a man is latin or black.    It is a shame as he hadn;t even experienced life yet, and his life was taken senselessly.  Merlin Santana was Latin and yes he was black.  He was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in New York.  He was latin and black but he was not African American.....there are alot of Black Latinos....for example, Roberto Clemente, Gloria Velez, Diane Cara, Sammy Sosa...shit just take a look at the Cuban Olympic team they are all black but i repeat they are not African American..........ppl stop being ignorant...there are white Latinos, and there are Black Latinos, and there are Indian Latinos, and there are some all in the middle............  Anyways this shit is not even important, i grew up on merlin santana from the cosbey show, to getting by, and then to steve harvey show..i still cant believe this ish...............RIP......

i wouldnt say were stupid....i agree that this "argument" shouldnt have been in this thread though and i do apologize for it...but i was merely trying to make the point that, just because ur black or white or hell even asian it doesnt mean u cant be a latino...cuz i know asian latinos, black latinos and i got cousins who have blonde hair and blue eyes, but they dont speak a lick of english...as for the black latinos being of african decent...of course they are...but they do not consider themselves black, they consider themselves latinos...if u ever speak with a latino born black they will not identify as blacks...some of them take offense to it....oh and i apologize for this rant also...R.I.P.
