50 Cent - Massacre album
« on: October 31, 2009, 12:44:49 AM »
This album gets WAY more hate than it should I feel.

Solid songs:

In My Hood
This is 50
I'm Supposed to Die Tonight
Piggy Bank
Gatman & Robin [Ft. Eminem]
Outta Control
Get In My Car
Ski Mask Way
A Baltimore Love Thing
Ryder Music
Gunz Come Out
My Toy Soldier [Ft. Tony Yayo]

Do any of U really disagree with those tracks being dope? The only one I feel I can give a pass to y'all if u said "nah, that shit wasn't hot" is Get In My Car. But the rest, fuckin' dope.

Posistion of Power, I Don't Need 'Em, God Gave Me Style & Hate It Or Love [GUnit Remix] are all good too.

Fuck Candy Shop, Just a Lil' Bit, Disco Inferno, Build You Up & So Amazing

5 filler/crap on a 21 song album is SOLID; wish every album nowadays put up those statistics

Nah sorry man its actually that bad compared to GRODT. You have to make comparisons cuz GRODT is what  50 is capable of and he thought too much of himself and couldnt wait a bit longer to get Dre to make this classic too. Patience would have made this a much better album and it and Curtis are good at best (and thats only when I am in the mood). Sorry man Good for you if you dig but I just cant. His latest album is still a bit weak but its better than these two albums put together!

I agree with Lunatic. There were a lot of bangers, hell I even liked Disco Inferno. Beat knocked and it was a pretty good club joint. For me it was Candy Shop and Just a lil Bit that pissed me off. If Iovine hadn't told 50 to go back in the studio and do something with Storch then things may have been a lot more different.

Massacre was a great album, I was saying that since day one and always got called crazy. He obviously lost that hunger compared to GRODT but it was 50 at his peak as a songwriter, every track could've been a single. I also didn't mind Candy Shop, Lil Bit and Disco Inferno because they all had banging production and were done proper for a catchy single which was the purpose of it. Same with that Jamie Foxx joint and So Amazing had a nice little bounce to it and 50's melodic flow. Considering some of the Massacre session tracks ended up on Game's album and GRODT OST maybe 3,4 changes and the album would be better than GRODT. The album was an event and had that big Aftermath feel to it unlike Curtis and BISD that sound like mixtapes.

Don't forget that you had an all star production that had a distinctive/ cohesive sound to it: Dre, Storch, J.R., Hi-Tek, Needlz, Sha Money, Eminem, Buckwild, Dangerous LLC, Cool & Dre...

Massacre>>>GRODT

This was mad underrated at the time cos everyone was sick of 50 and on Game's nuts.

Another thread about The Massacre. As I've said many times before, this is an under-rated album. My opinion on this is more or less the same as Meho's. Just that the Jamie Foxx joint wasn't great. The only other track I wasn't feeling was Gatman & Robin. I'm going to put it on right now.

Action!

I agree with you all.  If he wasn't afraid to reveal more about his character than his gangsta persona it would've been a better structured album with tracks like Hate It or Love It.  The pop sections weighed the album down.  I could do without Candy Shop and Piggy Bank.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder
Recline, in the mean time, twenty three shine, diamond bling blind as I rewind

i ALWAYS said this album was tight.

but also, don't even get any idea that it was better than GRODT, it was a few levels down.

i prefer Power of The Dollar too.
