Nas- Thiefs Theme

:o. Man this song still gets burn from me. Streets Disciple is slept on IMO. Nice, grimey beat and Nas does the damn thing. I am on my East Coast shit right now. Jay-Z and Nas, Cormega up next.

"Yo I'm hot like 95 fahrenheit on a summer night/
tight spots where bodies rot"

Track is sick. I fuckin love this guitar riff.

This is much better than Hip Hop Is Dead. I think that won when we did a poll on the 2 tracks last time. Great track.

Nas and his company had a comp' for that shit for UK MC's, there were some dope submissions but this was chosen as the winner :

Cant find it on youtube  :(  but the winning cat burned Nas on his own shit which he officially sponsored (all about the Street Fighter II death sound effects) :

Quote
[Intro: Rising Son]
Yo
Ha, Ha, Ha
DPP
Check, one two, one two
Who got more style than Son do?
None do (that's official)
Yeah, this is history right here (history)
Yo, Nas, Rising Son
Queensbridge to London
Let's go..

[Verse One: Rising Son]
Yo, Yo
This is the Thief's Theme
For the underground criminal street teams
Street dream chasing young hungry thugs that seek cream
Crack fiends and hatch schemes, knife-point robbery
Broad day blindeys, night-time thuggery
Sun down shinanigins, move without shadow...
...like ninjas, cat burglars, no fiasco
No commotion, make moves like locomotion
Crack-sport ambush, get the man bringing the coke in
Warehouse crime rate, mans throw they vans up
Bang job, "Freeze, everybody put your hands up"
Cash is nightmare, gun in ya faceplate
"It's not even ya money, don't make me put one in ya face, mate"
Thieves running this place, world trade, eight fare
Slave rift flashbacks; Bush killer, hate Blair!
Wish Mars was a mile away, cos I would escape there
On a Skyway railroad, to stick you from my tray fair, bitch...

Yeah, you know like when you kill somebody in Street Fighter
Uah, uah, uah, uah
[fades]

Ill.

i don't know why he had to go with the same sample again, shud have told Will.i.am to fuck off.

who cares if he uses the same sample?

the tracks aren't even similar
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder
Recline, in the mean time, twenty three shine, diamond bling blind as I rewind

Street's Disciple is my favorite Nas release next to the og version of I Am...Nastradamus (The Autobiography).
