Poll:Best verse on Watcher 2
« on: November 15, 2002, 06:28:29 PM »
All 3 killed the track but Dre had the best verse...I don't know who wrote it probably Eminem but I think his verse was consistanty tight from begining to end...Jay's verse was tight but he spit too many bars and I think it dragged on too much...Rakim started out dope but I think he fell off a little towards the end...

How could anyone outshine the God. I have yet to hear a collab with rakim that he didn't lead the pack. Ra's verse totally showed rhyme still and it focused on the meaning of the song. Dre shouldn't even be mentioned when talking about lyrics. Jay-z's verse was nice and I didn't mind that he spit for so long, I understand because after he heard Ra's verse he knew he had to come wit it. Jay got the track with Ra and Dre already on it that they recorded last year and his forty plus bars still didn't come close Ra's sixteen. So you can't see Ra even if you already know what he's going to say.

Jay-z's verse took the classic status away from this track.  it was too long and didn't make any sense at times.  thats why i start the song at the 1:53 mark. dre's flow was very impressive, but i'm going with Rakim

Jay's verse was the best IMO.  He killed that whole album, and that song.  Rakim has tight lyrics, but Ive never really been a fan of his style.  And even if Dre's verse was the best, give it to Jay cuz he wrote that shit.

JAY Z easily. Jay Z and the ROC have the industry on lock.

Give Dre his props but thats where it stops.

jay-z rapper for too long, i think that took a little bit away from the song, i kept thinkin when is he gonna shutup, but besides that fact, his verse was decent. even though he didnt write it, dres verse was tight, he delivered it right, but the tightest verse by far was rakim, no question. its no ass-kissin cuz hes a legend, im just tellin it like it is, he was the best on that song.
