In one of the largest features in Raptalk history, we sat down with recently united legendary hip-hop group, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony for an exclusive interview.

First thing's first, we hear from the recently prison released Flesh-N-Bone on the group's unification. Quickly moving onto the number one topic of discussion, we switch gears to the upcoming album, "Uni-5: The World's Enemy." Always recognized for their interesting album titles, Krayzie Bone takes the mic and describes to us the process of titling this important album.

"See Me Shine" with Jay Rush (the younger brother of Lyfe Jennings) is the first single off the album, and Bone Thugs talk to us about how they've shot plenty of music videos off the project already.

"Uni-verses" is a word that is used to describe what is going on with the album -- interesting, read on and find out exactly what that means!

Reuniting with DJ U-Neek, a possible feature with Twista/Tech N9Ne, famous collaborations. a Grammy victory, Jerry Heller, Eazy-E and more are just some of the topics that were discussed!

Enjoy!

Raptalk.Net: We’re in the house with legendary mid-west group, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony! How are you guys doing today?

All: Ye ye what’s happening with it? We’re doing good! How are you doing?

Raptalk.Net: I’m doing well; thanks for taking the time to speak with us today.

All: For sure.

Raptalk.Net: First thing’s first, who initiated the reunion?

Flesh-n-Bone: It initiated itself. It was a thing that was destined to happen with me being away. Layzie, Krayzie and Wish held it down for the duration while I was gone and Bizzy was gone, out of the loop. The fans also spoke up and had their voices and say in it as well. It was a lot of different factors that determined whether or not we get together and do this reunion album; one of them being me coming home and Bizzy being back. We’re family; it’s a whole family reunion situation. It was destined to happen.

Raptalk.Net: Ok. We’re gonna’ get into the album right away. What is the release date?

Layzie Bone: The release date as speak of it right now is December 22nd. They don’t wanna’ see me shine!

Raptalk.Net: Why did you guys name the album “Uni-5: The World’s Enemy”?

Krayzie Bone: We named it “Uni-5”, that’s about all of us coming back together, unified with all five of us. “The World’s Enemy” comes from us basically feeling that we have a legacy of always being different than everybody else. If everybody is going right, we’re going left. With that saying, we’re no part of the things that go on today. It actually takes on a lot of meanings. If you’re spiritual, it could have that meaning. If you’re just a rebel without a cause, it could have that meaning. It basically takes on a lot of different meanings.

Raptalk.Net: I love that title. Tell us about the first single “See Me Shine” with jay Rush.

Krayzie Bone: The single, we came up with that song which was actually recorded with Jay Rush who is one of my artists. We came up with the song and when the rest of the group heard it, they were like man, that’s a Bone song. We just flipped it and everybody else put their verses down on it. Man, it turned out to be a stone cold groove.

Raptalk.Net: Talk to us about the music video process for it.

Wish Bone: We took a whole week out to shoot videos, from Monday through Thursday. All we did was shoot different videos for each day of the week; we were banging them out. We were up early in the morning, and shot every day from 10am to 9pm or so; different locations and shooting different videos. We shot a couple viral videos. “See Me Shine” was the main video. We also shot a few viral videos – “Determination”, “The Rebirth” and “Meet me in the Sky.” That’s four videos shot in total from Monday through Thursday. We did it sun up to sun down and it was pretty fun. It was the first time we’ve done something like this, with four videos all in a week.

Raptalk.Net: With “See Me Shine” being the main and obviously the first single, out of those other three videos shot, are any of them going to be the second single?

Layzie Bone: Basically, we don’t have a second single. We have one – “See Me Shine” is the epitome of what we’re saying; they don’t want to see me shine.

Krayzie Bone: We haven’t come up with the second single video idea yet.

Raptalk.Net: Tell the readers about the production on the album, in terms of names and which direction it’s going in.

Wish Bone: We definitely are doing a different thing which we call the “uni-verses” where we’re sharing verses. Krayzie might do three words; Flesh might come behind him finish his sentence and so on and so forth. We call that the “uni-verse.” It’s like a style where the songs can’t be performed unless all five of us are there and that was really cool to do.

Krayzie Bone: As far as producers, we went back and got DJ U-Neek on the album. We have LT Hutton, DSC and a lot of up coming cats. We went after the raw talent and didn’t really reach out for any big names or anything like that. We feel like if the beat is hot, it’s hot.

Raptalk.Net: With it being a reunion album, how important was it to bring DJ U-Neek back into the fold?

Krayzie Bone: It was definitely vital that the old chemistry with U-Neek was back with us because he was with us in the beginning. He helped us make lots of hits before. It was definitely a must to have him apart of the album in some kind of way. It was real cool to bring him back. He came in and added his flavor to the album. The songs he did were off the hook. They can definitely expect that classic Bone Thugs/DJ U-Neek sound out of the records he did.

Raptalk.Net: There is not a lot of room for guest appearances with five members in the group, but does anyone else appear on the album besides Jay Rush?

Flesh-n-Bone: Nah, we basically liked what Jay Rush did with the background vocals. We’re definitely looking forward to working on some cameos, some features in the future. But for right now, we just have the bars.

Wish Bone: But we gotta’ talk about within’ the camp though. We got Felicia [Hawse] on the album. Oh and of course we have Jay Rush’s brother, Lyfe Jennings on the album. He’s on the album.

Raptalk.Net: Are the rumors about the track with Tech N9Ne & Twista false or true?

Flesh-n-Bone: That’s definitely in the making. As I was saying, we’re mixing the album down and that’s when we usually do features, there last minute. We definitely have that. I can say that we already got a verse from Tech N9Ne and we’re waiting on something for Twista. That song is called “At the Speed of Sound.” It’s a real good song. That is a collabo people could see.

Raptalk.Net: Did you guys think the mainstream would ever catch onto your aggressive, fast paced style of hip-hop?

Flesh-n-Bone: When we first came out, a lot of people tried to act like it was foreign and they weren’t really feeling it. But as you see today, damn near the whole industry has copied Bone Thugs; and not just rappers, but R&B singers as well. The rhythms and patterns of their songs, the way they sing and the way they harmonize are similar to Bone Thugs. It has not elevated past that point since we came up.

Raptalk.Net: You guys have collaborated with many legendary, deceased rappers such as 2Pac, Biggie, Eazy-E and Big Pun. Does one of those

collabo’s stick out more than the others?

Wish Bone: No, not really. They all were a blessing. We are very blessed to have worked with all of those before they passed away. None of them stand out, all of them are deep to us and hold their own standing.

Raptalk.Net: As you said, working with them before they passed away. I’m sure you realize you are the only artists to ever collaborate with those four staple names when they were still alive. What does that mean to the group?

Wish Bone: It means a lot to us to have that standing and hold that in the game because it can never be done again. We hold that category and we love it. It’s a real blessing.

Raptalk.Net: What was it like being around Jerry Heller?

Krayzie Bone: It was cool. We weren’t really around him all like that. When we were, he was a cool dude. He was cool with us as far as we know. We didn’t have a really long lasting relationship with him. As we were coming in, Eazy-E of course was changing up his whole company and at that time, he had let him go. So, it wasn’t like we were around him for a long time.

Raptalk.Net: How did the death of Eazy-E affect the group at the time?

Wish Bone: It affected us in a big way. We were just coming in the game and by our mentor leaving like that, we thought we were on our way back to the block. It was a real hard feeling. It wasn’t a good situation for us at all because everything changed up, and no disrespect to his wife Tomica [Wright]. We rather have had him still been here at that point in time.

Raptalk.Net: What was the group reaction like when you were notified that “Tha Crossroads” had been nominated for the Grammy?

Wish Bone: Aww shit mothafucka! (All: laughs). Nah, it was a really good feeling. The Grammy is something big, especially for new artists. We didn’t really think about any of the overnight stardom that came to us. We didn’t really think about none of that. We were just happy we were able to make our music and put it out on a global scale. So when we got nominated for a Grammy, it was like a blessing. We were really appreciative.

Raptalk.Net: Why should the fans go cop the album this December?

Flesh-n-Bone: ‘Cause I need some goddamn money! (laughs). I’m just playing. No, this is a classic album man. You have all five members, something nobody has heard in over ten years. You have the five different melodic voices coming in. like I said, it’s a classic. I think everybody who gets the album, nobody will be disappointed. Its real music coming back; we haven’t heard that in years. We’re definitely hitting everybody with a little bit of everything on this album.

Wish Bone: To add to that, we definitely want everybody to know that this album was done in every studio we worked in, we were all there together. We didn’t one song through email or anything like that. We did every song together in the same studio.

Raptalk.Net: The fans will be happy to hear that because nowadays do you see a lot of albums or collaborations done through email. Do you think that hurts the quality of the music?

Wish Bone: That takes the heart out of it. Sometimes it’s cool just to get it done in terms of time. But on the scale we’re on with this album, we had to be able to look each other in the eyes and get that brotherly, family, Bone love back. We had to be together.

Raptalk.Net: I’m sure the fans will love to hear that. We have Bone Thugs-N-Harmony on www.raptalk.net, the new album is in stores this December. Everyone should go get themselves a copy because they’re doing their part to bring real hip-hop back. You heard the official word right here on www.raptalk.net. Do you have any last words before I let you go?

All: Much love to all our fans, y’all go cop that album. On the realest level, it’s some real music. There is something on there for everybody. Much love! Thanks for the support.

Bone is the greatest rap group of all-time.  They are under-rated and I think people forget about them because they are from Cleveland.
