nope. As i stated the games I'VE seen him in were against the big teams and he looked average. Iniesta shitted all over him in those games.

Lionel Messi has become the first Argentinian to win the Ballon d'Or, the FC Barcelona forward claiming the prize awarded by France Football magazine for the European Player of the Year.

The 22-year-old eclipsed runner-up and last year's winner Cristiano Ronaldo by a record 240-point margin. Messi earned 473 points out of a possible 480, a near unanimous verdict, in the poll of 96 journalists worldwide. The award caps a brilliant year for a player who helped Barcelona to UEFA Champions League glory – he scored nine goals in last season's campaign including the second in the final victory against Manchester United FC – as well as to a Spanish league and cup double.

"It's a great honour to have won this award and the fact that I'm the first Argentinian is very exciting," said Messi, the prize having been opened up to non-Europeans in 1995. "The Ballon d'Or is very important for me. Every single player who has won it has been a fantastic player. I dedicate it to my family who are always by my side when needed. It won't be easy to enjoy another year like 2009 and claim this award again."

Fuck this, MEssi could have waited a year mayby. They should have given it to XAVI. Barcelona won everything, and even if MEssi is a extremly great player, they could have won it whitout him. No chance they would have won anything whitout XAVI. He is the player that alawos Barcelona to play the type of football they play. He is the guy who holds the team togheter. Who speed the tempo up when the need to, who slow it down when they need to. Even if some of Messi`s goals where incredible Xavi way of playing football has no match in the world. The passes, the tutch. He got everything. The most important player for the best team last year.

I guess they are almoust forced to give it to Messi due to his goals and dribbles but if you see Barcelona plays you notice how important Xavi is. Just the four assist in the humiliation of Real Madrid last season should be worth the price alone. Xavi is a football god.

Only bad thing about him is he plays for the wrong club. He should have played for United....

I think Messi, Xavi and Iniesta all deserved the trophy, Messi has the advantage that he plays a bit more spectacular than Xavi. But it's incredible how they can protect the ball. Even if they get attacked by 3 players, they'll still keep the ball, especially Iniesta and Messi.
