I Think westcoast hip hop might be going extinct as far as on a National mainstream level ,
by 2012 the younger new genaration will be getting play and the OG's will be getting old ..
That means terrible music ,  Tight jeans , dance songs etc etc

simply not its just gonna be underground what it means - they doin what they want to, without askin labels + releasing labums independently  .For me already west mainstream is so so that why i listen underground cats. 5 out 10 albums are pretty dope and i dont have to worries of any BS trends

but, no...

i never understood why people think things like this can "die".

lets say next year all these new dudes drop an album, then the next year we get Detox (2011).

why is it dead after that? why can't it just be quiet & then re-emerge in 2014? or 2015? or 2025?

it's not like people will just COMPLETELY stop rapping in California, people will drop music; new rappers will come up.

what if in 2017 the best music we've ever heard come from the West Coast? better than Pac & Snoop & Cube. would it "not count" or something because it "died" in 2012?

music (& all genres) will never die.
