KURUPT ERUPTS ON SCREEN IN 'HALF PAST DEAD'
From the recording studio to the concert stage, Kurupt has held audiences spellbound with his down-to-earth lines and rocketing rhymes, but fans will discover an altogether fresh side of the pioneering player in the new film "Half Past Dead," opening Friday, November 15th. Portraying a convict named Twitch, the versatile Tha Row rapper -- appearing in his first major motion picture -- teams with legendary action star Steven Seagal to battle government agents who've infiltrated the New Alcatraz prison seeking the location of $200 million in gold. It's a role that perfectly reflects the high-energy personality and witty wordplay of Kurupt, the popular protégé of Tha Row Records founder Suge Knight.

"Twitch is a fool, and he has got this real smart mouth," explains the performer, who along with pursuing his acting and recording careers also serves as Senior Vice President of Tha Row. "I read the script, and I just loved the role. That was the basis of it."

In addition to appearing in "Half Past Dead," Kurupt is preparing his upcoming album, Against the Grain, tentatively scheduled for release early next year on Tha Row Records. Tha Row is the new label from Death Row Records mastermind Suge Knight, who over the past decade has consistently defined and refined the rap sound.
