John Bido Appreciation Thread

Mike Dean, Mr. Lee, N.O. Joe get most of the shine on Rap A Lot when it comes to beats, but John Bido is as good if not better than all of them and does not get as much shine. I know he is not as active as them but he has produced some classics. First to come to mind is Mind Playing Tricks On Me. Southside is another dope joint he did on My Homies.

I got to go with John Bido.
Maybe because it was in heavy rotation for about 3 years before Dre flipped it.

Yeah I probably would lean towards Bido as well. Love that Southside track he did on My Homies as well. Sounds like a Southern version of California Love.

This time it's other way around Dre flipped it before Bido.... so I go with Dre on that one.
Although Ultramagnetic,EPMD and X-Clan all flipped the sample before Dre,but Dre went so hard on with that sample, that there's no competion what's so ever.

True. Bido gave it such a heavy bassline for Face's album. Really had a dirty south feel to it, but yeah Dre killed that sample.

Yeah it has been a while. I believe he lefted RAL as well, because he ended up suing Tony Draper to get out of his Sauve House contract.

Yessir and if you dig that album, me and Chad got some more recommendations for you also lol.

Rap-A-Lot easily has one of the biggest, most slept on and consistent catalogs of music in hip hop history IMO.
