Ron Artest on who the league MVP is...
« on: January 23, 2010, 10:14:40 PM »

Asked before the Lakers played the Knicks Friday night if the Cavs would be a playoff team without LeBron, Artest didn’t hesitate.

“Actually I thought about that [Thursday],” Artest said. “If you take LeBron off that team, no. They’re not. They’re nothing. Not that they’re nothing, they’re still human beings. But you take him off that team, no. I guess that’s why they got me, to take him out of the game. [Thursday] it didn’t work. They got us this year, so all we can do is move on from that and see what happens in the playoffs.”

hmmm....

Lebron is the clear MVP this year ... his efficiency has been off the chart lately ... and with Kobe playing like a D league player for the last 10 games , it's a lock

Lebron does not average 4 blocks a game ... even the leader in block does not get this amount per game , what are you smoking lol

As long as his team is competing for 60 wins, LeBron will probably win the next 10 MVPs. But where are you getting 4 blocks from? He is only averaging 1.

i swear, you guys are blind to overexaggeration lol.

regardless, 60 wins is a stretch.

all he should need is a playoff birth with those kind of numbers; who else is close to being that valuable for their team?

That was my prediction for the next 10 years. I said competing for 60 wins. 55+ will do, considering no player has won an MVP with less than 50 wins.

But LeBron doesn't get a significant amount of blocks, so what is there to exaggerate?

but he gets timely, amazing blocks that make highlight reels for days lol.

anyway, i'm sure the Cavs or whatever team he plays for will have at least 50 wins; but looking around the league right now, LeBron is without competition the MVP of the NBA. :o

Yeah Lebron is the MVP no doubt...but the question the fans will be asking...can he lead the Cavs to the championship? I'd say no. Not at all. Artest touches upon it nad maybe he's being a bit harsh saying they're 'nothing', but the Cavs squad just isnt strong enough besides Lebron to mount a serious challenge.

Just look at the Lakers...take Kobe out of the team and you've still got Gasol, Odom, Artest etc...its still at the very least a comfortable late stage playoff team even without their star man. Cavs need that backup.
