213 - So Fly without the crunchy unclear background noice!?
« on: January 25, 2010, 03:58:33 AM »
When I listen to my 213 The Hard Way CD the last track So Fly has a very dominant background noice!

I was therefore just wondering if anyone has a better version!?

Plus on the album version you can hear Snoop Dogg say "Welcome To The Chuuch volume.2", now that's fucked up.

It's supposed to be that way.

That was cheap.

dont know if everyone knows the history of the 213 album.
snoopy, nate n warren reunited for fun as 213 on 1 song for a mixtape - "So Fly", where they were rappin over an old Tamia-song (produced by Missy). the song recieved tremendous feedback, so they decided to hit the lab "officialy" wit an album - "the hard way". they included the "so fly"on the album itself (even tho it was just a mixtape-joint over an old instrumental), cuz it was such a hit -- dat's why u hear snoopy say "weclome 2 the chuch vol2" on there.

but they didn't get the clearance from Missy to keep the track for the retail-release, until they agreed to jump on her artist's remix (Tamia's "cant go for that").

It's actually a Monica song.. called "So Gone"

the crackle u hear is because the original music was sampled off vinyl for the OG Monica record..

213 GTA'd it.

I was about to say the same thing Sheist lol, dude above got some of the info right but mixed it up.

The Tamia situation was a totally different one and way before the 213 album... When 213 did the "Can't Go For That" remix with Tamia there weren"t even talks of a 213 album yet.

"So Fly" was a remix of Monica's smash hit "So Gone". No idea where you got the sample issue story with Missy from...

Yeah but they could have taken the tag away on the version they released on the album.

Yup... it's still one of the best songs off that album though :)

It is, but the whole album was fire. I still can't understand why so many people think it's average. One of the best DPG-related releases in the last decade.

It is. It gets so much hate (still) because Warren G didn't produce one song, while he should have produced the entire album. It was a 213 album for christs sake.

very very true - i think ppl are just bitter bcuz of the fact dat there wasn't any g-dubb poduction on there.
the fans tend to focus on dat and instead X it out bcuz of dat - instead of takin the album for what it is ---- a dope fuckin album  8)

The album was average,it wasnt bad but it wasnt that good either.Saying its one of the best dpg albums in the last decade is pretty pointless seeing as theirs only been a few actual good albums from them. Most of them have been below average to just downright terrible.

So fly was easily the best song on the album mostly due to nate.
