VLC should work I believe.http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
I use shark007 codec pack. Works like a charm, it plays everything even in Windows Media Center.

VLC is good cause it's real easy to use and it plays almost any file available.
how can you burn mkv files to play on your dvd player hooked up to your tv?
