New York rap veteran Fat Joe has announced the release of his Darkside album's first single, "Slow Down (HaHa)," which features Young Jeezy.

The rapper released the single from his popular Twitter page.

"Congratulations Welcome to THE DARK SIDE!! The first single off my new album ft. Young Jeezy HAHA(Slow Down Son) YA ALL WELCOME!!!!," he wrote Thursday (February 4). "Here is the Clean Here is the dirty link again it I TOLD YA I WAS COMING WITH THAT MONSTER JOINT WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE!!!!! CRACK @Scoopdeville My brother that beat is a monster you see what me and jeezy did to that thing there !!!!!" (Fat Joe's Twitter)

On the track, Joe makes a return to his more street-based raps.

"It take eight keys and Jay-Z to get the city rockin' now," Joe raps. "Rob Base, Snoop Dogg to get it rockin' now/Big money I'm talkin' Mayweather, Pacquiao -- I beat a motherf*cker uglier than 'Precious,' real n*gga -- recession got the hood pushing more than time clocks, so I dropped a hundred on the streets, I don't buy stocks/Told little motherf*cker to get his shine box..." ("Slow Down (HaHa)")

Last month, the rapper said he was focused on changing up his content for the upcoming album.

"The people gotta understand: I don't give a f--- right now," Joe said. "It's nothing to be political, nothing to be friends about. My n---as that's with me is the loyal n---as. Bandwagon n---as don't rock with me. Right now, I tried to give y'all the nice guy. I tried to go, 'Hello, Aloha' -- they don't want Fat Joe to do that. I'mma have to do something that I'm an expert at; it's called 'kill people.' That's why it's The Darkside: Volume 1. Once you get this one, you ain't gonna never want Fat Joe to do anything else. Just know that this new album right here is about to be the skeleton. We about to change how every n---a do their album now. N---as is gonna have to come hard." (MTV)

Nice track but he completely jacked Jay's flow from Empire State Of Mind on the 2nd verse.

This track ain't special.  The beat is aight but eh... I'm just not feeling it.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder

How would you describe this beat?

A) West coast
B) East coast
C) Boom Bap

I'm wondering...

Anyways, after a couple days and a couple more spins, I'm really feeling the beat.  Jeezy sounds great over material like this.
