Jimmy Iovine head mentor on American Idol ...might launch Detox from it?

Don't know if anyone else saw, but Jimmy Iovine is now a big part of the new season of American Idol, doing mentoring and the winner will be signed to him I think...

So I'm thinking maybe they'll have Dr Dre performing at some point? Maybe they're going to try to coincide the release of Detox with the big finale of American Idol, seeing as it's like the biggest audience you can possibly get on TV....

Doubt it, simply because American Idol is aimed at families, showing them who the next family friendly pop artist will be. Dre isn't family firendly per se so I dont think it'll happen but never say never, it is Detox, never know what they're gonna do to promote it

Yeah, it's not like Eminem is making super hardcore stuff anymore, and I Need A Doctor is something that could easily be put on American Idol, IMO

On the UK X Factor show they had Rhianna doing her chorus bit from Eminem's Love the Way You Lie on that show, so I think they could do it

Plus doesn't Jimmy hang out with Dre like all the time? It would be odd if the thought hadn't at least crossed their minds...

they barely even mentioned dre or em in connection with iovene...too busy trying to connect him to akon and gaga which is byfar a more relevant comparison when you think about the show and what it embodies.
