Zach Randolph Implicated in Indiana Drug Bust

Indianapolis, In - Memphis Grizzlies standout Zach Randolph has been implicated in an Indianapolis drug investigation. A probable cause affidavit has a police informant indentifying Randolph as a major marijuana supplier in Indianapolis.

A stake out on a suspected drug house 2 weeks ago led to 32 year old Arthur Boyd being pulled over in a Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle had marijuana and ammunition inside, and was registered to Randolph.

The Escalade led police to a storage facility where they say Randolph rents four lockers. According to the document, police dogs found controlled substances in two of the four lockers.

John Tompkins, Randolph's attorney, was quoted by 6News saying that Randolph is not connected to any drug activity. He went on to say that the vehicle's secret compartments were a safety precaution for concealing valuables. The Memphis Grizzlies will release a statement supporting Randolph on Thursday, according to Tompkins.

This is not Randolph's first run in with the law. He has a conviction on battery charges dating back to 1997. He was also caught selling a stolen gun in 1999. In 2002 Randolph was charged with underage drinking. Last year he was arrested on charges of drunk driving in Los Angeles.

The latest arrest information comes from a report from 6 News reporter, Jack Rinehart.

They also got Marc Gasol...as for Z Bo, sounds like he fucked up, it's a shame cause he had a pretty solid season last year.

I love how idiots always try laughing off the Gasol trade, when Memphis actually made a good move. As a rebuilding team, they acquired Marc Gasol, Javaris Crittenton (who they then traded to Washington for a future 1st round draft pick), a 2008 first round draft pick (who ended up being Donte Green, who was then traded for Darrell Arthur), a 2010 first round draft pick, AND freed up enough cap-space to sign Randolph.

So in essence, they got Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Darrell Arthur, and 2 future 1st round picks (1 from Wizards and 1 from Lakers) for Pau Gasol...What a horrible trade  ::)

The point is, you cut cap space because you're a shitty team with a cheap owner, not because you are going to sign a player with the EXACT SAME CONTRACT Gasol had, only that this player is not only a clearly inferior player, but also has a horrible, horrible character.

Why are you completely disregarding the fact that they got Marc Gasol and 3 first round picks out of it as well? LOL. You too much, man.

Because of those exact reasons you just mentioned. It's Marc Gasol, a complete gamble, who luckily turned out to be serviceable. It's Javaris Crittenton, a complete gamble who turned out to be a complete failure. And it is 2 frist round draft picks from the Lakers, who completely suck cause it's almost like 2 second round draft picks from the Grizzlies.

If you in all honesty believe that this was the best the Grizzlies could do with Pau Gasol, you're either a fanatic Laker-Fan or an idiot.

For a team that's rebuilding, getting 3 first round picks for 1 player is excellent in ANY case. I don't think you realize how valuable those picks are. 1 of the picks is actually from Washington, so it's 2 first round picks from the Lakers and 1 from Washington...AND Marc Gasol...AND Zack Randolph. The only person who's an idiot is you for thinking it's a bad trade....what more could a rebuilding team ask for?

Serviceable? Lol the guy averaged 15/9 while shooting almost 60% in his second NBA season...Also, why did nobody seem to care when the Cavs gave up way less for Jamison than the Lakers did for Pau?

the thing is, Gasolesque trades happen all the time in the NBA when teams are tryna clear some capspace. as a matter of fact, big name players always get traded to teams for much less than what Gasol was traded for, but these Laker haters choose to ignore that and act like the Gasol trade was some incredible once in a lifetime occurrence, because they don't have nearly as much interest in those teams as they do in the Lakers.

If you are rebuilding...

WHY WOULD YOU GET ZACH RANDOLPH AND HIS CONTRACT?

WHY?

He's a dumb fucktard.
His numbers make him look much better than he is.
He has the same contract Gasol had.

It's like trading Kobe for a picks because you're rebuilding, only to get a super-dumb semi-thug version of Rashard Lewis 1 year later.

^because they were able to get Marc Gasol AND 3 vital 1st round picks, as well...what dont you get? they werent gunna win now...Gasol was in his prime years and wanted to win, not be on a rebuilding team. Gasol got traded for very valuable rebuilding pieces, stop overreacting LOL.

Who gives a shit. Did the Lakers get the best of that trade? Of course. But one team always gets the best of a trade. Im sure Memphis had its reasons. Im sure their goal wasnt just to help the Lakers. You cant really be mad at the Lakers. If someone would have offerred something better to Memphis...they would have moved Gasol THERE.

And that's what I'm not so sure about. Why trade your superstar in January in the first place? After Bynum went down and Bryant went into "trade me or I shoot your kids"-mode, they could have EASILY milked the Lakers for more. No question about it.
