i heard about Joell through Dubcc; if i wasn't checking the internet for shit, i probably would never of heard Joell until recently when "Call Me" & "Nissian, Honda, Chevy" came on the radio.

does anybody know the real story? i'm hearing that problems with labels are the reason for this? but i don't really believe that because so is Budden, isn't he?

and the other rumor is that Joell just straight up didn't write anything for this; if that's the case, that's pretty fucked up.
thats not a rumor...

royce clearly says it in airplanes lol

he says he can't get him on his shit; the question is, is it because of label trouble or Joell wouldn't go on it?

so lil joey needs help hahaha,i dig royce music, and crooked got lyrics for days, but i got the most respect for joell that equal just goes out and does his thing that's a networth equal right there yell

Joell is dope so he'll be fine without them if that's the way it'll go.

But on the same coin, joell is the one whos benefitted the most by being in the group. So he owes a lot to them.

Not really. Crooked I did.  It's his first official release.

Joell been making moves.

Just because hes had an album doesnt mean anything lol.Swoop g has two albums out does and recorded songs with pac are you telling me if he joined the group it wouldnt benefit him the most?Ive been a joell fan since back in the day,but nobody had heard of joell until slaughterhouse lets face it.The proof was in the pudding when the album was about to come out nobody knew shit about joell, the album was his coming out party.Nobody went into slaughterhouse just learning about crooked i,but tons of people went in without hearing joell before.Everybody knows who crooked i is hes had tons of publicity. This is the first time joells been on radio and touring.

Nobody really knew and people still don't know who who crooked i is.  Just some internet fans.  Joell Ortiz was bubbling, Slaughterhouse just gave him the proper spotlight.  I really do disagree with you about this.

Crooked I has been featured on several magazine covers, has had a video with ashanti that got regular play, was featured on ja rules albums that went multiplatinum, was doing tons of promo shit with death row inclduing being on jimmy kimmel, having so damn hood get regular spins and having a billboard over beverly hills, was in just about every single magazine when hip hop weekly was going and does features all over the place. What did joell do?Release an album that nobody knew came out.Sure he signed to aftermath but eh didnt release a single song and its not like people know who joe beast is.Like I said go back and read any thread pretaining to when sh came out joell was the wildcard that nobody knew or talked about.i dont even think its debateable that nobody know who joell was before slaughterhouse.Im cruious how joell was at all bubbling?Dude had less buzz then mims second album. And this isnt hate, hell Im the one who made a joell ortiz appreciation thread on this forum that got all of 3 replies.People didnt know who he was before sh thats pretty much a fact.

People still don't know who Crooked I is . He was on all that shit and didn't benefit from it.  Slaughterhouse was his first major chance to shine.  I guess they both got their chances to shine but I do think Joell Ortiz was buzzing with the brick, signing to aftermath, etc.  I guess not as big as I thought.  I can remember him on G4tv before slaughterhouse doing his thing.

I guess my ultimate point is Crooked I benefited just as much as Joell Ortiz did because really Crooked has been as much as a nobody as joell ortiz but over a longer period.

I disagree, crooked received more buzz from hip hop weekly then joell has ever had at any point in his career.

Joell was making noise way before Slaughterhouse, duke was signed to Dre, and Released The Bodega Chronicles which was a sick album. I think everyone benefited from the Slaughterhouse album, I just think Joell came so incredibly hard on every joint cats took the most notice...

This song is ill, gonna download this mixtape tonight
he was signed to Dre, but he didn't do much

That's where his buzz really began though, he was able to piggy back his first release off of that buzz. Would love to hear any Dre/Joell joints, doubt we'll get to hear any of the fruits of that deal though
