Even with a guarantee from LeBron....fuck that. I would want a guarantee from the front office that they will go after some good players to help LeBron. At least if you dont have LeBron, the expectation will be low. Just making the playoffs would be a huge accomplishment for Izzo. WITH LeBron...anything short of a championship is seen as a failure.

If he wants to make money he should do it regardless, it's not like he wouldn't be able to build a team without Lebron

absolutely not; he shouldn't take the job regardless, unless he really wants the cash.

you really think Izzo would do anything different than Mike Brown? Tom would still just sit there & basically let LeBron run the show; these aren't college kids, he can't motivate them the same way.

also, i personally don't think LeBron is even going back, so it would be a waste for Izzo to leave a program he built into a powerhouse to coach a team without the best player in basketball.

The thing is, Izzo is already making 3 million/year as one of the most respected coaches in College Basketball. Not to mention being completely loved in Lansing. His job security is so much better where he is now. In the pro's....he can have 2 bad years and he's outta there.

Either way, no

but what's this "players to help LBJ" shit ppl can saying? That was a problem years ago but is no longer an excuse. Antawn Jamison, Mo Williams, Anthony Parker, Varejao, Zy, tried Shaq, etc.

This team has a good enough supporting cast. No excuses.

Are they as good as Kobe's? You cant really compare it to Bostons situation because they dont have ONE dominate player.

They fired Mike Brown because they had to fire SOMEbody in order to show the fans, and LeBron that they were interested in making things better. He basically was the easiest guy to blame things on. Nobody gives a shit if the coach gets fired. I feel bad for him tho. Cus i think he was stuck in a no win situation. If the team won a title...it would be because of LeBron.  If they didnt win a title...it would be "Mike Brown couldnt win a title even with LeBron"

^exactly.

Mike Brown probably won't be out of work for too long; he's probably a good coach, but he didn't have to do much with LeBron with him.

not when you are one of the most respected coaches in the country and have a ton of job security and are already making 3 million/year. Better than going to Cleveland for 2 years and being fired.

obviously Izzo thinks different since he's still interested in the job

if you're going to the NBA you might as well go when the best player in the league is in his prime waiting for you

Not even I would want to coach a LeBron-less Cavs team.

So no.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

Lebron (per ESPN) is 100% behind Izzo

this is happening      i'd rather see LEbron go to NY and make the NBA more relevant than baseball  (which is still #2 in the USA behind the NFL)
