Incorrect, my freind lol.
I still see Magic as the best Laker of all time. Kobe is up there as one of the best. But Id still put Magic ahead of him, and probably Kareem. Its funny how during the finals, or after...there is always some sportswriter who feels the need to say something bold.
Yeah, sorry but Magic was the main man in LA from his rookie year. Kareem was Kareem but Magic was never playing second fiddle. From the second he got there he won, and by his 9th season they had 5 titles. Kobe's on his 14th season, and wasn't a dominant starter until his 4th year. great off the bench in his sophomore year. But there is something to be said about the Magics and the Birds who walked into teams and had to lead, more so Bird, from year one, and do as much as they did with careers cut short. What happens to Kobe's career if in year 8 or year 9 he got HIV or had surgery that cut his career short.Kobe's the best of the new millennium so far but he's going to have to do a lot more for me to put him at the Magic/Bird level, and even then I think if both those guys stayed healthy the first Bulls 3-peat would not have happened.

You can easily make the case of Duncan > Kobe...and most lists have it as so. Kobe has probably narrowed that gap quite a bit with this title. But youre talkin the best PF of all time. He just gets lost in the mix because people like to focus on highflyers and perimeter guys more than bigs.

I'd rather have Kobe leading my team than anyone else right now, with Lebron just behind, and Duncan's best days are gone.
