I wouldn't leave my kid with MJ, just like I wouldn't leave my teenage daughter with Dresta.

Well, while we are still on this subject, since it seems to keep coming up repeatedly, let me address something from the previous thread.  You accused me of trying to imply that because the young lady in question was a prostitute and had also been molested by her parents, that Dresta should have been given a pass for what happened between he and her.  For the record, that's not what I was trying to say at all.  I'm saying that Dresta made a big error in judgment for not trying harder to find out the young woman's age.  But he also served his time.  I was merely trying to point out that it seems tragically ironic that of all the young lady's past relationships where she was obviously being exploited by people, it seems as though the person who got in the most trouble was the one person who may have been actually trying to help her.  That's all.  I'm not excusing anything, but I'm also not trying to pass judgment when I'm sure there's a lot about all of this that we don't know.

Lmao, how was Dresta possibly trying to help her?! If you're not giving Dresta a pass then why are you saying its "tragically ironic" that he got into trouble? It's not tragic at all, it was deserved.

I'm saying it's ironic that everyone else who molested her and paid to have sex with her probably didn't get in any trouble.  I guess you think it's okay that those people got off scott free?  See, I can play that game too  I can flip what you said and twist your words as well.  Apparently, there is no one left who is willing to think rationally about this.  Dresta said himself that when he found out how old the girl was he tried calling her parents, before finding out that they were mistreating her as well.  That sounds to me like someone who was trying to do the right thing.  Here it is in his words if you don't believe me:

"She admitted on the stand that I never knew she was under age and when I did I called her mother who didn't want her bacc because her husband had been molesting the girl  and this is why she was at the mall chasing older men to get away from her step father who was molesting her. "

Rapsodie, I notice how you like to belittle everyone else's opinion, I guess as a way of trying to elevate your own.  Well, it's fine to have your own opinions, but please stop putting words in my mouth.  If you want to debate, debate what I actually say, not what you think I mean.

And to that other sucka, I'm actually not from Europe, if you must know.  I live right here in the States.  And while I'm not going to respond to your other comment, I'll just say this:  I think what happened to that young woman is terrible and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.  But some of you on here don't seem to be forming your opinions on anything but raw emotion.  You're not considering the circumstances at all.  That's fine.  No one has the right to tell you how to think about something.  But that's not how I'm choosing to view it.  To me it's not as cut and dry as "Dresta is a paedophile" or isn't.  There were very obviously some fucked up circumstances involved that make it more complicated than that.

How am I putting words in your mouth? I'm quoting you word for word. "tragically ironic." You used that exact phrase. You said its "tragically ironic" that Dresta got into trouble and others didn't. I mean, that's pretty clear. You can't say you're not defending dude when its right there.

Also, I haven't even spoken on anyone else so you really can't twist my words into anything. See what you said right there IS putting words in someone's mouth. If you've been reading my replies you would know by now I believe anyone in that situation should be punished for it.

Maybe what you meant to say was "its tragic that all the guys who paid to have sex with her didn't get into trouble", though how you know they didn't get into trouble is beyond me. But you didn't say that. Instead you were talking about Dresta and using a "but these guys didn't get into trouble" analogy, which is obviously defending him.

Come on, man.  You're an intelligent person.  You didn't misunderstand me.  You know that I was saying that it's tragic if Dresta got in trouble and no one else did when it sounds like what everyone else did was worse.  And of course I don't know for sure that no one else got in trouble.  But it doesn't sound like the girl's father got in any trouble, and do you really think they were able to track down and prosecute a bunch of anonymous "Johns," ?  I doubt it.  You seem to keep implying that I have said that Dresta should be given a pass, when in fact, what I said was he made a mistake and he served his time.  If the sex was forced or he intentionally slept with an underage person, I would say that more should have been done.  But given the circumstances, I think the punishment fit the crime.
You know what, we've had three threads about this this week.  I think I've said all I'm going to say about it.  You guys can have your thread back.  Please, by all means, resume organizing your angry mob.

It's not me misunderstanding you. I read your words exactly as you wrote them. Using a "but these guys didn't get into trouble" analogy is expressing sympathy for Dresta. That's just a basic understanding of how wording works. Like I said, if you didn't mean that then you should have said something different. Don't get mad at me for reading what you said  ;)
