Hehe, I know I seem to come off as a "Dre basher". But I love the dude's music. But his solo plans after 2001 ain't gonna happen, so might as well be honest.

threads a bit pre mature...

if we made a thread everytime dre got an idea about what direction to take his music wed have mad pages of bullshit.

oh yeah, we do.

 :(

lmao, you ignorant! read & do some research b4 claiming shit.
this is NOT just simple idea that is NEW to 2010, just cuz YOU recently heard about it for the first time.
it's a complicated concept that's been in the works for a couple of years now.
I'm confident we'll see detox at the very least sometime by early next year.
that gives a ton of room for this project to see the light of day. if NOT then FUCK is all i can say...

The Planets idea has already been done before by a Classical Composer named Gustav Holst, we already know that Hip-Hop music is made by using samples & replays of parts of SONGS that already exist, so if Dre was inspired somehow my Gustav's score, which i believe to be the case then i think it's absolutely monumental that he HIMSELF is speaking of it publicly.

^ that claim holds no credibility what so ever. At no point has Dr.Dre said Gustav Holst is an inspiration for this project, so once again: fanboy wishthinking.

It would be interesting to hear though...

well it wasn't a FACTUAL claim you dumbass, it was clearly speculation on my part.
the likelihood of Dre birthing this concept on his own out of thin air would shock me.
I tried using the FACT that every single hip-hop producer dig's thru crate after crate for new records to sample or gain inspiration from.
so if Dre was looking thru some Vinyl & came across Gustav's The Planets seems more likely than Dre sitting at his home studio w/ a blunt thinking of what he should do next musically....

and didn't Quik say he heard some out-of-this-world Symphonic/Orchestral beats from Dre that were re-worked out of Chopin compositions?
the proof is in the putting, sir. Dre certainly seems to have a soft-spot for classical music. ;D

I luv schooling all you little children & remedial minded posters on this bored, I'm having a laugh!!

yeah, check out those pieces from Gustav, they're great & it has to be why Dre is so interested/inspired in making his own hip-hop version. i doubt very much it was originally his OWN concept, although history has proven that GREAT minds do think alike, lol. we've already known from at least more than one credible source that for at least a couple of years now Dre has been working on this 'Planets' concept. the fact that Dre himself has acknowledged it in the press & is even toying w/ the idea of releasing it :o :o :o, is what FLOORS me.

I think as early as 2006 is when i started to notice Dre's drop of interest & over-all enthusiasm about Detox, with this whole NEWS FLASH of 'The Planets' from DRE himself makes perfect sense to me as to why he dis-regards Detox so to speak. and due to the Industry politics, I'm sure there has been a severe amount of changes that Detox has undergone (lyrically & content-wise) which would explain Dre's seeming distance from the project. it's all very confusing, but for me at least it's all staring to make more realistic sense, instead of the usual jaded idealism a fan is susceptible to invariably having through out his/her life as a fan. REAL TALK!  8)

All you have is speculation, but I won't bother going into a discussion with someone who has obviously made up his mind that "he's right".

Wasn't Detox supposed to drop this fall? Well, we're fast approaching fall and we have no promotion, no release date for a singel, nothing.

Pretty much. because of Detox’s delay anything Dre say out of his mouth angers the public cause to them Dre should nothing else with his life or think or talk about anything else unless Detox actually drops.

I mean, i remember when Dre son died a lot of bastards had nerve to state “this is gonna further delay Detox." SMH.

People making Detox too personal to them, as if there no records out, as if they can’t just go and bump Chronic & 2001 til it drops.
