It's whatever, I guess. They got no chance.

Sadly enough, 27 teams don't have a chance; & that's only if you give Boston "a chance".

Not necessarily. They have been shopping Rip forever...and Tayshaun. If they trade away either of those two or both for a couple other pieces than the Mcgrady thing could work out. They can stick Mcgrady at SF too if they need to.

I wonder how piston fans feel about tmac wanting to joining them, referring to the incident 6 years ago when he thought the magic was in the 2nd round after leading 3-1, then still losing in the 1st round?  I know that they were hoping the rumor was true that Dumars was gonna take the nets gm position, but he didn't & they were mad.

Aldridge: McGrady, Pistons agree to one-year deal

By David Aldridge, TNT analyst
Posted Aug 10 2010 11:30AM - Updated Aug 10 2010 11:52AM

The Detroit Pistons have some work to do with their roster after agreeing to terms Tuesday morning with free agent forward Tracy McGrady on a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum of $1.35 million.

A league source indicated Tuesday that the Pistons will work to "un-jam the log jam" the team now has at the shooting guard and small forward spots after signing the 31-year-old McGrady, who has been working out for several teams this summer looking for a home, including Chicago and Cleveland.

The source said that McGrady agreed without conditions to play behind starters Rip Hamilton and Tayshawn Prince next season, though it's likely that Detroit will move either Hamilton or Prince before the start of next season. It's more likely the Pistons will move Prince, who is entering the last year of his contract.

A second source said Sunday that Detroit won't move Prince unless he requests a trade.

Detroit is satisfied that McGrady is healthy after coming back last year from microfracture surgery on his left knee in February, 2009.

The Pistons consider McGrady a small risk and worth the gamble, and worth it as they try to rise again in the East.
