That’s right, days ago Tha Realest collaborated with none other than the Outlawz for a track to be featured on Tha Realest’s second album, “Remember My Name.”

All can expect EDI, Fatal, and Young Noble dropping some of their best bars in years for this song that apparently had everyone in the studio going nuts!

No matter what anyone says, fans don't create online promotion. If that was the case, Crooked I would have dropped years ago. He has 10,000 loyal enthusiasts on his forum and he can't get nothing to drop.

All of these underground rappers with or that had huge buzz prior to their album: IE Wiz Khalifa, Yelawolf, Gucci Mane a few years back, Nipsey Hussle, Cudi a few years back, Drake, the list goes on - HAD DEALS IN PLACE. It might not have been public knowledge but nobody gets big buzz going for any album anymore without a deal, that's just the way it goes.

Labels front now like their artists aren't signed - Wiz Khalifa is the prime example. He's been nesting over at Atlantic for over a year, Curren$y was nesting at Def Jam for over a year, YG (Toot it and Boot it) has been signed to Def Jam for over a year, Wale was nesting at Interscope for close to 2 years. Labels act as if these cats aint signed because they know the fanbase gets suckered into getting behind an "underground" artist, when in fact they aren't underground at all. That is the record label's newest tactic - fans love to get behind underground talent that they think nobody else listens to, when in reality there are hundreds of thousands of people downloading that same mixtape you think you one upped everyone else on. It's a sad day that labels have to sucker people but this is simply the truth. Anyone ever think why all of a sudden radio stations play mixtape tracks? How "Toot it and Boot It" can get played daily when the artist is supposedly not even signed? How Drake could get played on every radio station and MTV with no deal? It's simple - THEY DO HAVE DEALS, the label just hides it until their buzz gets huge.

These labels have the money to supply their mixtapes with top notch production and guests, and people turn around mesmerized that mixtapes sound like albums these days. It's the point, and labels have latched onto the way the industry is now. You think Cool and Dre gave Game 20 beats for free? JR Rotem gave him a beat for a mixtape? Cmon, Interscope paid for that and pumped it out to get Game some solid buzz going. Unless you're a certified legend in the game, labels aren't tossing out your album until you put out that mixtape album first. Then, they judge off that response and download list as to how much money they're going to put into the actual marketing campaign.

Not to mention: I've reached out to all the big hip hop blog sites to cover Tha Realest. There is no interest 90% of the time simply because he has no solid deal behind him and he is an independent artist. He has Ray-J, Fat Joe, and Sean Paul on his album but they didnt look at it twice. But if Universal/Motown emailed these websites and gave them an exclusive track to throw on by Tha Realest, best believe they're doing it without hesitation.

Case and point: All major mixtapes and major underground artists are the products of record labels. Don't believe it and you're in denial.

I bought 2 copies of Witness Tha Realest expecting an average album, but I - being critical of Tha Realest's "biting", was surprised and actually enjoyed the album. It was a solid effort, almost playable all the way through, which is bizarre because Tha Realest said himself that it would be, and it's usually a typical self promo that artists always sayto bump up their own work, so I took those comments with a grain of salt, but it really was one of thee best rap releases of 2009 IMO

However, the groundbreaking news of Tha Realest working with Tha Outlawz doesn't hold much weight with me. Tha Outlawz are wack and have been for years, and I feel his efforts to work with EDI and other Outlawz are just a sad attempt to prove his legitimacy in being an authentic rapper not biting the style of 2Pac by working with his closest affiliates, which he is in some ways biting regardless

I would prefer to hear him doing another track with J.Valentine (F*ck Hollywood, N Luv Wit A Ghetto Girl), or productions from Marv, Blaqthoven or Kobaine, so that the new album would resemble some of the previous advantages of the previous release, which was a good one.

Real and Kobane parted ways a long time ago and I don't think they will work with eachother no time soon.. Maybe WideAwake will release some of his Death Row material via iTunes or something to get him some buzz going cause ever since "Witness Tha Realest" dropped, he kinda gone silent with his shit. Not to mention that "Peep'n Game" video dropped unapproved almost year after his album and that ain't no way to promote your project.

Realest should still work with Marvelouz Marv, Mark Sparks, Blaqthoven and let 1500 Or Nuthin' produce some more tracks for him - that "Kuz It Just Ain't 'N U" joint off "Witness Tha Realest" is really dope, I'm feelin' the beat on this



On a side note - Tha Realest have mentioned that WC reached out to Outlawz to do a track for his project. Are we talking about "Revenge Of The Barracuda"? Give us some info about it Tito
