NBA and the salary cap....

Why does the NBA even have a salary cap if teams with rich owners are going to spend way over the cap anyway.


The cap is $58 million, the luxury tax line is $70 million, and somehow the Lakers have a payroll of $95 million for the upcoming season ($91 mil last year).



Are other teams anywhere NEAR this level...maybe the Mavs?         

This seems like some NY Yankees shit right here
