His son Curtis on otha hand has had the odds stacked against em. He's come up in the last couple of years improving his music progressively. His newest joint "Muzik" was a dope westcoast summer banga. I would say that Muzik >>>NE Detox related leak. Too bad dre doesn't acknowledge em ever since he was a dead beat mafucka.

I would have respect for Dre if he atleast put his son on detox or coached em on mixing/polishing his beatz. I won't keep my hopes up though since Dre has bigger plans in molding his next Nate Dogg hook extraordinaire..........................................Justin Bieber. Which really sucks because if it wasn't for Jimmy Iovine could you imagine how much dope shit we would've had? Better Game albums, an Aftermath Raekwon album, Busta's album 2-3 years before it was finalyl released and a 2nd album, Stat Quo, Joell Ortiz, etc etc etc.

Jimmy Iovine is powerful, but Dre was responsible for the delay of the big bang.

anyway, are you really blaming Jimmy for the flaws of game's albums?
if anything, game is mainly responsible for that.
sure he doesn't have total artistic freedom, but how would this be any different if Jimmy Iovine wasn't in the picture( for example, if he signed to another major label)?

besides, what about Earl Hayes, Jimmy is behind him. it's the 2nd time he's signed to interscope, yet he doesn't have an album released.
so there's obviously more powerful people involved

look, i believe jimmy is in a position to make a difference, but it's not like he owns aftermath on his own.
i don't have all the answers to the scrapped projects. these guys do business behind closed doors, so all we can do is speculate.

i think jimmy does have a hand in some projects not seeing the light of the day, but so does dre.
jimmy is obviously more powerful, but if dre really wanted a certain artist to release an album no matter the cost(even if that means taking the album to another label), he could stick his neck out more.
it seems like he quickly loses interest (stat quo, bishop lamont for example) & moves on to the next thing

also, isn't it interesting that we as outsiders are more critical of the business at aftermath, than the artists involved?

I made a similar comment in another thread about this. Fans need someone to blame. In their minds if Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine give it the green light, it's gonna be a hit no matter what but if that was the case, everything that came out would be huge. There's all this "Oh! Jimmy's blackballing the West" talk but business is business. Everyone, be it Jimmy Iovine or Lyor Cohen or Dr. Dre or Suge Knight, are all thinking when they are about drop an album, about roughly the same thing. The reception. The familiar song and dance is "If Dre wanted to, he could make this guy a star". Well, I don't agree. Big Bang was probably one of Dre's best projects in some time and despite the fact that it was far from a flop, it's still looked in the same veign as his post-Death Row/pre-Eminem Aftermath catalog. Since we don't know the business behind-the-scenes, it's easy to point the finger at Jimmy Iovine. The same way, a lot of wrestling fans point the finger at Vince McMahon when WWE fails or sports fan blame the coach when their favorite team loses. There's a lot of perceived power that comes with owning a company but even the best of them have whole crews of people feeding them info and doing a lot of the work. That's what a company is. It's not one guy sitting in his office, yaying or naying ideas based on how he feels on the day. It's more like people from all divisions, pitching and promoting to get higher up on the food chain.
