i would've liked to have seen ralph ciffaretto's identical twin brother walk into that restaurant and spray the entire table. have tony's big fat head blown to pieces, carmela's left eyeball layin on the floor like bugsy siegel, meadow with two slugs in her throat chokin on her own blood and AJ under the table with a minor flesh wound crying like the bitch he was. then do a spin off series with joe pantoliano.

Ending sucked.  Greatest drama series ever, but man I did not like the ending.

 I have to say I didn't really care for the ending.  It was a great show.  I never missed an episode, and I own every season.  But to me, the ending just seemed like the kind of lazy story telling that you see in low-budget indie movies.  I guess just cutting to black was an attempt at being "artsy," but it didn't sit well with me.  I won't say it's the worst ending ever, but for a show that had been so well written throughout the entire run, I just think Chase could have come up with some better way to end his series.  I will say that right up until the very end, I loved that episode.  We finally got to see Phil Leotardo get his.

I've discussed the ending with many friends and I've read different interpretations of the ending.  I completely understand fans wanting to actually see a concrete visual ending.  My personal view is that it isn't necessary for it to be good.  And I don't see as open ended as some people claim.  One of two things happen, he either got shot and killed or had one of his panic attacks where he blacks out.  The entire diner scene was shot from the POV(but not directly) of Tony Soprano.  There is a series of shots that establish this.  Every time somebody walks in, it shows Tony then it shows who comes in.  The killer comes from the bathroom, and has a clear sideview of Tony.  Why was there so much emphasis on Meadow being late?  Because if she was on time, that view wouldn't be clear anymore.
