Thats what we're all saying genius. We would all love a dope album from Snoop but its probably not going to happen. He's abandoned his fanbase in hopes of getting the teeny boppers to buy his shit and neither side is happy (hints his last few albums beeing the lowest selling). So if he's not going to be able to produce great music that we all want to hear (more Last Meal / Top Dogg esque and less R&G / MIW ish) - then why taint the Doggystyle name with it?

Why is it always up to the artists to rep the coast and hand over torches? I think a lot of people forget that all these OG's from the late 80's/early 90's were over-run by younger West Coast rappers WITHOUT their hand. The radio's, magazines, and media overall have a bigger part to play, as well as the labels playing a bigger part.

This album is nothing more than to ride of the success and legacy of the original Doggystyle to make some extra cash, and it's sad that Snoop is resorting to this route. Why ruin such a classic title when you know fine well that your talent has declined?

Well it kind of does in a way have a ripple effect. People with a consistent release of music in their career - people can go and buy any one of their albums and be left with a good impression to purchase more. However if Snoop releases an album in his current state under the title of Doggystyle, then a new generation of fans may think that a part 2 will resemble or better the original, and purchase part 2 being the more current as their first Snoop release, and either hate it or like it for a pop 5 minute moment filler (like all his latest attempts) and may not even bother to purchase the original despite it's reputation, because in the current internet days of music and news, the newer Doggystyle will be all over the net, promoted and bigged up as a great album making the younger audiences think "Hmmmm, It was alright, but I thnk I'll pass on buying the original. Besides, it's almost 10 years old"..

People may pass on the 93 Doggystyle, thinking Doggystyle part 2 will reflect or be similar to the original. It wont stop us older generations here, but it wont help boost sales for the original either. That's why these artists need to re-promote the product rather than try to re-create it

But Snoop doesn't have a piece of Doggystyle's publishing so those sales do him no good. Thing with a Doggystyle 2 is you need to get your fanbase happy with that one because that's it for you. The moment you tell them you're dropping a sequel to that album, they're gonna expect a level of quality there and if you don't get it right, you can't ever sell something like that again at the same value. I think he should hold off this one and call in that favor when Dre need him on Detox and see if they can work it again.
