Nah Rae sent the current trend for classic album sequels. They are all doing it because of him. No one's doing it because of The Blueprint 2, which was disappointing. That's not even the first album sequel. Tical, The Chronic 2001, etc.

I only support remakes of classics of they are trying to capture the essence of the original. OB4CL II was a true sequel, and tho not quite as good as the original it was probably the best album he could have made. Everything we've heard about Snoop's next album sounds like it would be a sequel in name only.

Snoop is not just a musician anymore... He's an entertainment machine, a brand. Music is just a portion of his repertoire now.

It's this.  If he sold 0 units for the rest of his life, he'd still be a millionaire.  Why should Snoop care what we think?
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

Yup, exactly.  I read on Billboard that they were trying to push Katy Perry as a singles artist but I think maybe that's the best thing for Snoop now.  If he keeps releasing wack-ass albums he's gonna ruin his legacy.  He was the shit in the 90s and had TLM in early 2000s but that's about it.  Yes arguably TBCT was good but not good enough, and much too late.
He just needs to appear on singles often enough to keep fans wanting more.  Quantity vs Quality   ;D

How did he ruin it? Snoop is now more visible and relevant than ever before. Record sales aren't a barometer to consider an artist's success anymore, because like I said rap is only a part of his repertoire...

So for close minded people who are only looking for "g-funk snoop dogg" then yeah maybe he ruined it post last meal. But overall he's only gotten bigger and bigger. After Last Meal he had some of the biggest hits of his career ("Beautiful, Drop It Like It's Hot, Sexual Eruption, I Wanna Rock")

I am just not a fan of pop music and I was recently requested to make a mixtape with it. It was easy but I almost wanted to cry listening to it.
Stay true to yourself. I can undesrtand expanding out but come on. You will lose fans because of it, though you will gain some. It's a win lose situation.

Who says snoop isn't being true to himself?

Snoop doesn't really act like an underground rapper.

Mainstream fans aren't as loyal as his west coast fan base.

Being visible and making music are two separate topics. If you want to talk about visibility, then yea, Snoop's all over the place.

However this topic is about music, and as far as consistent quality goes, it's been going down hill for years. Snoop's problem is that he and the label put TOO MUCH music on the cd's. Do y'all realize that outside of "Doggystyle" and "Malice N Wonderland", his albums have at least 19 or more tracks (only official albums, not talking about albums like "Dead Man Walking" or the Chuuch mixtapes")?

If Snoop cuts down his album to 14 or 15 tracks with an interlude or two, the quality of music he puts out would be much better. Blue Carpet Treatment, No Limit Top Dogg, and Ego Trippin' would have been much better albums if he had left 5-6 tracks off of each album.
