Nate Dogg Album Question
« on: September 17, 2010, 11:01:01 PM »
Sup everybody I had a question about a Nate Dogg album that i'm not sure ever saw the light of day or if it did I can't find it. I think it was just a self titled album and it was supposed to come out after Music and Me. I had a track from it called "There She Goes" with Quik and Warren G.

Anyone know about this or if it's available anywhere?

Hey thanks man really appreciate that. What was the reasoning behind them pulling promotion and marketing on it, do you know? I always wondered

If you do a search, you should be able to find the album remastered on the forum somewhere.

I think it was around the time Elektra fired the rap department and that could be the main reason his album was never officially released..

Elektra went bankruptcy too.

It's weird because Nate Dogg had a lot of hooks on big singles at the time, promoted right this album could have done big, even if some songs are not top quality. Music & Me went gold, they would'nt have take any risks by putting this Nate album out.

Prizzops for the drop. :)

Does your promo have artwork and producer/feature credits etc? I've got the full credits from the elektra site but they're not written out specific to each track ::)

i just looked at my copy, and no - unfortunately, there aren't any production-credits on there.. just the song-titles..
i will up a photo sooner or later..

yeah, Nate's third album exists in physcial form. there are 2 versions - the first promtional-copies from Eletra (that are extremely hard to find), and then the re-issue that Shortyo put out.. Somehow, someway - the idiot Shortyo managed to accuire distribution-rights from Elektra. He pressed up a bunch of retail-coupies, with horrendous arwork. i think the Shortyo-version is probably hard to find, as well..

nobody wants the Shortyo-version, so if you're a collector, check out eBay once in a while - and u might find the original promotional copy..

Full Credits would be coo.
This albums along the lines of Music and Me, I liked his more bluesy style from his first album. It's awesome to hear his voice though he is missed for sure.

THere's probably a million albums out there that we will never hear.

Didn't know about the Shortyo thing. Damn too bad the rights went to this fat fuck! Nobody was never able to release that album properly, a shame! I'll check out time to time now that i know it exists!
