on the other thread, homie said we worship cars, women, and ourselves.  I find that a little negative, sorry.  And I don't know what christmas YOU celebrate, but please believe me and mine celebrate a religious christmas... his little post if full of stereotypes about christmas that don't apply to me, for instance, my church readily admits that december 25th isn't christ's birthday, in fact we have no idea when he was born, but we use that date since it is the traditional christmas date.  He said "gaudy" lights, but by whose standards? What's the difference betweeen "gaudy" and "festive".?

My family and friends give presents because they represent 2 things: The present Our heavenly father gave humankind (The son, Jesus Christ, and his infinte atonement), and also to represent the presents given to the infant Jesus by the 3 wise men.  

Jesus is called the lamb and his people the flock because of symbolism.  In the old testament, the lord demanded first born lambs as sacrifices to purge sin, as a reflection of his first born son, who would be sacrificed to purge mankind's sin.  The whole shepard thing is symbolic, suggesting that just as a shepard goes after 1 lost sheep and risks losing the whole flock, so does Jesus Christ.

Mistletoe, Lights, Christmas Trees, etc. are harmless celebratory traditions, and frankly, if you think there's something wrong with that, then you must live a very dull life.

The 1 thing you are right about is that modern christmas is very different from the ancient christmas celebration... it's much more religious, LOL....

I was talking about Atheist.  Atheist adhere to their own selfish desires, and without realizing it worship themselves, their money, their cars, and their women.  Or even worse their kids, because that's much too heavy a burden to place on kids.  That's why you have overbearing parents.  They place too much imoportance on the actions of adolescent children.  I overstand the mental poison....

yeah it REALLY pisses me off that athiest practice CHRISTmas, they're celebrating something they hate or don't believe...and making it into something materialistic and far from what it's suppose to be, some atheists i know at school actually have the NERVE to say "why are chistians incorperating religion into christmas" , god it frustrates me how athiests turn our holidays into comercial bullshit


at school they can't say chritmas or easter vacation....it's winter and spring break now, fuck that !

actually a lot of atheists are very intelligent and have done detailed research and give reasons for their choice. They give their research which you can interpret different ways. People dont just choose atheism because they are lazy or worship themselves; they do it cause they say there are lack of facts and they honestly dont belive.
