Uhh it depends on who you talk to. He's definitely one of our best ever but his lack of mainstream success makes him irrelevant to most Hip-Hop fans. But thanks to "I Got 5 On it" he is a legend to some.

i look back at some of Yuk's strongest verses:

-i got 5 on it (and remix)
-cali g's (outshines both Crooked I and e-40 who both had great verses themselves)
-somebody gotta die tonight  (the one with fatal ,tech n9ne and tha realest)
-hollywood  (cydal and luniz...the first rap song i fell in love with)
-pims plays and hustlas
-coast to coast  (a posse cut with fatal, game, e sermon, new child and stat quo)
-girl  (although it's impossble not to say Crooked I was on a whole new level here, both Num and Yuk still had dope verses)

shit man theres many many more i'm just buzzed and rambling a bit.

In the Bay maybe, but as far as Westcoast overall, I would say no.

I think he needs one, maybe 2 near classic solo joints to get there.

It's a tough call because who is to say. I hear people bringing up his talent as a rapper but there are people in every profession who might not be the most talented but are legendary. I've heard plenty of mother fuckers been described as legendary simply because they've been working steadily for X amount of years. I mean what consitutes a legend? You might have a dude who wasn't doing shit but one day did one fucking thing that people will remember him forever for. On the flip side, you might have a guy who was the best kept secret and while more naturally gifted than whoever, they went their whole life as being fairly obscure.

not even close to "legend"

he has a few great tracks no doubt, but to say he is a legend is ridiculous.

No. I define legends as rappers who have made an impact on the mainstream level with successful careers. As far as the music industry is concerned, Yuk is a one-hit wonder.

I wouldnt describe him as a legend, he had impact on westcoast, but theres only few legends on westcoast so its hard to put him in that category. But he sure is one of the better rappers..

Yeah he was one of the first rappers from the Bay that I digged off of straight lyrics and less on style and delivery. I mean lyrically dude chops heavy. Most cats from the Bay have they own swagger and vibe but Yuk and Num came in just chopping. And yeah last time I checked Buddens and Yuk lyrically slayed Game on these battle tracks. That Breathe was insane.

Oh and City Of Dope on his first album is a west coast classic from a storytelling perspective. The way he broke down the drug epidemic in the Bay from start to finish was genius.
