"the night I served 2000 emcees"--Kurupt
« on: November 11, 2010, 03:41:28 PM »
Ive always heard people refer to Kurupt in the mid 90s going to NY and battling like 200 rappers in a row and beating them all

but I have been unable to google any solid information about any such event

does anyone have any idea who he beat?  if it even happened? lol

no idea, but Kurupt used to be a great battle-rapper. think the only respected westcoast-battle rapper, except Sly Boogy or Mistah F.a.b.

I believe the 1st infamous battle was in New York outside the Tunnel. Snoop and DPG were supposed to perform and they let Snoop in but did not recognize Dogg Pound. Mind you this was early in their career. Kurupt said something to the effect that he insisted to go in their and to prove who he was he would battle anyone outside. Not sure on the exact number but after he served some folks, they finally let DPG in.

I know he said he has battled cats in Wu-Tang. including Killah Priest, that was one of the main reasons he wanted him in the 4 Horsemen because he said they basically went to a draw.
