Terrace Martin, DJ Quik, & Kurupt
« on: November 18, 2010, 06:25:36 AM »
I came to a verdict the other day: T. Martin, DJ Quik, and Kurupt are the three best niggas making music on the West Coast right now.

I was bumpin the "Here, My Dear" mixtape on Sunday and damn, this is some fly, well-produced, smooth shit, straight through. It was a nice day: I was just doin some laundry then I fucked a bitch. Man, this is some perfect music for a day like that. That track "Roll Up" with Wiz Khalifa is especially dope.

I bumped Blaqkout straight through the other day and man, FUCK THE HATERS ON THIS ONE! I'll concede that this album is too short, and there are a couple of garbage songs, but god damn, there's like 8 tracks on there that are motherfuckin bomb! These 8 tracks are better than 99% of the shit coming out today. Sometimes I think people hate on this album just cause it don't agree with their lifestyle. Cuz Kurupt and Quik are makin shit for a certain type of nigga: a nigga that's grown, gettin money, fuckin bitches, doin major things. A song like "Fuck Y'all" just don't work unless you ridin in a fat whip, just fucked a bitch, and got some stacks in your pocket. And that is the truth.

I agree with everything you just typed 'Member.of.Blood_Nigga_2006' These young cats want a soundtrack to they lives. That Blkout Lp was flawless, the Terrace Martin Here, My Dear was very, very well put together.

yeah these chumps these days are too impatient (blame instant access Internet)....

If Kurupt doesn't provide the dotted lines to the picture he paints, then people get bothered for having to think about his craft.
EVERY LAST ONE OF ''Y-O-U'' BELIEVE THAT DR. DRE HAS MADE THESE SONG's FOR ''Y-O-U''.
THE REALITY IS THAT THE SONG's ARE ''ABOUT Y-O-U'' !!!!!!

Yeah, people gotta realize, Quik is a grown ass man. His classic sound is great, but he's experiencing new shit and trying to make a type of music that fits it. There's music for when you're a young dude trying to become a boss, and there's music for once you already are a boss. And that's Blaqkout.

Word, homie, I'm glad to see another real nigga on this site. You're right bout Kurupt. He's got a certain style now, and to some people it might seem disjointed, but really that's just the homie's intensity. Shit confuses the chumps, but to the real niggas it's motivation.
