Pulling up to a million dollar mansion in an innocuous but wealthy neighborhood, I double checked the address to make sure it was correct... it was. Two wrought iron gates stood in front of me and a bevy of security cameras and an intercom flanked my car. I dialed the button and the gates ominously opened. Boisterous and charismatic, Slim walked out and greeted me. "What up cuz. Not too many people make it behind these doors." We walked inside his house and he sat down, offering me a drink. The phone rang and I heard an eerily familiar voice, "What up." "What's good unc?". "I'm leaving Detroit and back in town this week. Let's link up." "Fasho". Slim calmly hung up the phone and looked at me, "That was Dre. Detox is done".

Shrouded in mystery, Slim the Mobster is the next protege of a man who needs no introduction whatsoever. Having written over 70% of Detox and the latest single, "Kush" he is next on deck after the long awaited Detox drops this year. Preferring to keep a low profile, we had the rare opportunity to sit down with him for one of the most in depth interviews he has given in his career. Below is part one of that interview.

DUBCNN TV: Exclusive Interview with Slim the Mobster Part 1 (Video/Text)

Stay tuned next week for part 2 and check back for the latest news on Slim the Mobster.

thanks for the interview

Dubcnn: As far as your career, do you have a lot of freedom about how you go about it?

Slim the Mobster: Yeah, I was able to grasp my own situation ‘cause I did put out my own mixtape, which was part of the reason that really got him fuckin’ with me. Shout out to DJ Clue. He did my first mixtape. I was low key kind of signed behind that. That mixtape sold millions and millions, whatever the numbers the best mixtapes did, my mixtape did better than any mixtape ever. So that’s always a good look. How many artists that got mixtapes got signed from their mixtapes, I did. It’s not televised or public as the next person but that’s what I did.
;D

Dubcnn: Musically, where are you coming from? Where is your project gonna be centered around? The Detox album, I’m sure they’re related but different.

Slim the Mobster: It’s gonna have its similarities, and the difference is… I’m in my own space. The shit I talk about is the shit Dre can’t talk about, the shit Dre won’t talk about. And the shit Dre talk about is the shit I can’t talk about because I haven’t done it yet. Same with me the things I talk about it’s kind of untouchable to him because he already talked about it. My album is gonna be like an NWA album, you gonna hear some shit that’s real. It ain’t gonna be a Dr. Dre album, it’s gonna be a real joint.
that's a subliminal

---We shall see..... ;)

He will never see his shine .We all know it. That label takes ZERO chances with fresh talent. 2 years from now , he will still be on the shelf , GUARANTEED . He said that Detox is done , so what happened to the 2 or 3 more tracks Dre said he needed ?

IN the interview he mentions a mixtape that he has done that was succesful....

So ,  where can this mixtape be found on the internet....or is it not on the internet or was he just making that part up?

If dubcnn hosted it don't make a big deal about me not knowing about it...I don't check the site absolutely 100 percent regularly...

also it seems like this guy is like the hitman for detox.....whereas hitman was the new rapper for 2001 ......he is the new rapper for detox.....seems like that anyway...

I just hope this guy is more talented than "hitman"

According to him, the singles were just wrapped up in Detroit during that last session. Dre was with Eminem and completed them over the course of several weeks.

He seems a tad bit delusional with his comments about his mixtape.

Also, can someone explain what he means by this,

Quote
A lot of the things that got leaked, they put Bishop Lamont name on, that was me. 26s scrub, so forgive me for the noise. For those people who thought my range wasn’t on 6’s buddy big boy shit goin’ on over here.

The only known leak that people mislabeled was Coud've Been You.
Cool breeze; I'm hopping out of new Beams
My outfit ran me a few G's but none of that will matter if you leave
I used to be an Adam with two Eves and shawtys automatically do me
Excuse me, all that happened before you doesn't matter
I'm a vision of the future climbing the success ladder
Recline, in the mean time, twenty three shine, diamond bling blind as I rewind

SO what's up he is lying he doesn't have a mixtape that has sold millions of copies?    It probably is impossible to have a mixtape sell that much cause there  is no distribution network outside the internet that could sell that much for a mixtape...and mixtapes are usually for free on the internet.

It seems like everyone has a "lottery ticket" mixtape story with Dr. Dre. I thought this guy was DOC's nephew?

not sure how many units the mixtape sold, but hardly anyone knows who he is, let alone that he has a mixtape
