Bishop Lamont and Crooked I - What's up?
« on: November 26, 2010, 04:51:41 PM »
Honestly, why is it we have 2 great rappers out there that can't get an album out.  Bishop had "I Can't Figure it Out", "City Lights" which were 2 classic songs that could have got radio play.  Not to mention all his others he dropped for free.  This is great and all, but he's going to be 30+ years old and washed up if someone doesn't do him right.

As for Crooked I, he's also one of the best out there.  Let's be serious.  He has mad lyrics, some classic songs, but again no one can push him.

We are stuck with this radio crap now, and we need some new faces.  Bishop tells it how it is (not the typical Gangsta stuff), and Crooked has the Gangsta shit.  This is unreal.

These mix tapes are cool, but we need something polished up and to hit retail.  How are these guys making money?

I guess like Bishop says "I Can't Figure It Out".

i'm not exactly an expert on the industry, but most, if not all, the songs in the charts are either really slow love pop songs, or they're pop songs to dance to. great lyrics doesn't seem to be popular :-\

I agree.  I watched an interview with him talking about that.  I think Shady and Crooked are pretty equal on the level of lyrics.  Let's hope so!

Tell that to Cashis, lol :D

Crooked had the best opportunity to drop his album in 2007 - he got crazy buzz with hip-hop weekly's plus "New West Anthem" was taking a positive response everywhere and the line "This year I'm dropping B.O.S.S., I promise" made everybody fired up. Shame he didn't keep up with his word..

As far as Bishop goes, I knew from day one Aftermath ain't going to release this guy's album - they both better take an example from Jay Rock and go independent instead of waiting another 15 years for some major label to gave em a million dollar contract etc. This ain't gonna happen.

bishop got a lot of things to handle; 1st in my opion he has no star personalty like xzibit, snoop or even game. 2nd his voice is to high like an chipmunk sometimes & 3rd he needs to drop his fuckin debut true a indie deal.

to CROOKED; Best rapper outta there he is the only one who is the best after 2pac in my opion, but the problem with him his that he canīt decide when to drop his album and how to chose the best songs for his fuckin debut album; im wondering how many songs he has recorded since he spitted into a mic... ::)
