Sam Sneed's reply to Street Scholar Tracklisting
« on: December 04, 2010, 02:43:15 PM »
I emailed him most responses to the other thread, and this is what he had to say.

SORRY TO HURT YOUR FEELINGS MY SCHOLAR BUT THERE WERE A LOT OF MISSING PARTS FROM THE OLD CATALOG SO IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFICULT TASK TO DUPLICATE WHAT WAS ONCE DONE SO LOVELY BEFORE ALTHOUGH I WAS SUCCESSFUL BRINGIN BACK SONGS LIKE "LADY HEROIN", "GOING HOLLYWOOD", "DRUG RELATED" AND OF COURSE "RECOGNIZE". I ALSO HAD TO USE THIS PLATFORM TO BE ABLE TO INTRODUCE MY NEW ARTIST SO I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PROJECT BECAUSE IT IS A WELL BALANCED MEAL. ONE LOVE MY SCHOLAR!

I like the concept. WIDEawake is a business, and the main objective for any business is to make money. To get all these artists - Sneed, cold187um, Danny Boy etc on board, they need to offer some more of the carrot to their current status when their main financial outgoing is paying back their financier. Their funds are low, and it's better IMO to have former artists on board rather than a professional bootleg company.

Although recently their releases have had major flaws, I hope time heals and improves their projects

You should message him back and ask if he plans on ever trying to release the other tracks from the vault in the future. Even if they don't sound perfect. I'm sure all the fans would be happy with it as long as he tried to make them sound as good as possible, quality and music wise.

They could make a compilation of all that was finished and with (parts of) unfinished songs. That would be more than satisfying for all the people who are interested in a Sam Sneed album.

So, he's basically denying that he has all the songs and released this shit due to it worked for him.

TO BE HONEST IM REALLY SURPRISED THAT YOU ALL REALLY WANTED TO HEAR ALL THAT OLD MATERIAL I THOUGHT YOU ALL WOULD WANNA HEAR SOMETHING NEW BUT IF I GET THE BUDGET TO DO THAT I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN PUT TOGETHER WITH JUST THE PIECES I HAVE. ANOTHER REASON WHY I WASNT GUN HO IS BECAUSE THERE WAS A LOT OF VIOLENCE ON SOME OF THAT MATERIAL AND AT THIS AGE I WOULDN'T BE ALL THAT COMFORTABLE RELEASING IT EVEN IF I HAD FOUND ALL THE PIECES TO THE ALBUM.

Please send me any messages you would like me to send back, thanks.

Schreibs is completely right on with this. We all heard the snippets. Sam Sneed is truly pathetic thinking people will buy that shit, just like the staff of WIDEawake.

true, if he would be honest saying he wants to move on and don't only wants to release the old stuff i would think twice about buying this product. i would understand that he grabs the chance to promote new stuff but lying in our face when everybody knows that he got that shit in flawless quality ready to be pressed on cd - FUCK SAM

I'm sick of wideawake and hyland insulting all the loyal death row fans intelligence. And all the artists that work with this mismanaged company should know what the deal is instead of doing business with them cuz none of their releases have sold many units. Sam should know people want to hear his old material that's all we know him from and waited years to hear it why the hell would we want to listen to his new shit. I like how he says i didn't think u wanted to hear the old stuff it was too violent what the hell does that mean were not little kids and he didn't think about what he was making back in the day as too violent i think its another case like dre of studio gangsters trying to put out an image they really aren't like most of these clowns today. that explains why he bounced soon after pac joined and the death row/bad boy beef was heavy he was scared. His songs production wise was great but im so sick of these lying ass phony rappers
