lol really? I've heard that US prisons are packed but I didn't know society was this fucked up. You don't have to be Nostradamus to know that the U S and A are doomed.

And I'm with Ikke here, most of these people have committed crimes, and slave work is a low price for most of them. Nobody of them has to starve or sth like that. They wouldn't want to change with prisoners in any other country (well maybe a few).

If a prison system can ruin your economy sth goes wrong anyway, and that's not just the treatment of prisoners.

You seem to be forgetting that prisoners are being punished.
If they need to support a family they shouldn't have been doing whatever got them in prison anyway. But in a country as corrupt as america I see where you're coming from.

You gotta remember the systems design though. Take poor people off the street, lock them away, force them to work for nothing...or next to nothing. No real rehabilitation. In an environment that turns men into animals. Then when their time is served, release them. With no money, no skills, no real opportunities (most employers will not hire felons), and tell them to do everything the "right" way or they come back to prison. People will survive before all else. So when you take away their ability to survive the "right" way...they will survive another way...and be right back in prison. Its just another part of the cycle that keeps the rich rich...and the poor poor.
