Ikke that's absurd. But unfortunately I think your attitude prevails in society so these abuses will likely continue as long as people continue to ignore this problem. Pretty soon close to 25% of the US population will either be a) in jail, b) just getting out or c) about to go back.

We have more people in jail than Mao's China and Stalin's USSR put together. Meanwhile we have a rapidly disappearing social safety net and poverty levels not seen since the 1930s.

More jobs are created in prisons every day than get outsourced, and the average prison wage is 10 cents.

The result is a huge underclass that the corporate world can exploit. In many areas now prisoners are banned from getting education... In what way does this help anyone prevent crime?

I'm not getting into the subject just stating Minimum wage is high for prisoners since they don't have to pay rent which is where most people will spend most of their money on
