I Need A Doctor was one of the best Em songs I've heard in 2010.

If it was made 10 years ago, we'd be talking about it today.

Except it's not an Eminem song, it was intended for Detox at one point.

Basically, Eminem has been rhyming over POP beats for Interscope since the relatively disappointing sales of Relapse.  By pop beats, I mean pop as a genre (not popular).  This would include Nysnc, Backstreet Boys, and 98 Degrees.  Basically, they took the pop formula, saved the choruses, and threw a rapper on the verses.  Eminem became the thing he used to be vehemently against (at least, according to his words spoken through music).

I Need A Doctor is yet another classic example of Eminem rhyming over a pop beat.  Some times it works but most times it's sad. 

Albeit, a slightly different content matter, this was done better by Game with Doctor's Advocate.

What was wrong with that song? All of Em's verses this year have been about how he won't even feed them fast food or something ridiculous. At least that song had focus & a point to it.

The fact that it sucks is what's wrong with the song. The Marshall Mathers LP is Eminem's last good album. 10 years ago that was already released, so this could very well have fitted in Em's catalogue from 10 years ago. In January 2001 his downfall probably began already.

True. Everybody is waiting on an album greater than 2001. But what they don't realize is that if 2001 was released in 2011, it wouldn't get nearly the same amount of respect it got back then.
