I've looked over what a lot of you have said and have you taken in the idea that maybe racism is a form of marketing for their music? i.e Targeting a particular "group" and taking the elements from that the "group" and making something that they know they will be able to relate to. Hence, making them fell as though they are able to relate to what message this artist is trying to get across, and inturn making them want to buy their material. It's a bonus if they are able to express themselves in away that other ppl (i.e the ones they discriminate against) like.

It's just like all these lil' "beefs" that happen these days, in most cases it's only away to attract publicity to themselves and try and create sales. It seems that the Hip Hop industry is the most notrious and the biggest user of this tactic.

Also, I'm do with this, no one can come up with an educated answer to why I should ignore the racism around me in my life, and why I should ignore a system that has obress minorities for years. I think I can honestly say, that if you guys were victoms of racial profiling, wither it be schools (which I was, I was labeled at risk to join gangs because I was Mexican and poor, which went to my school records and affected what college say when I applited to them, and other schools saw when I finally transfered out of them damn schools) police, who we all know label minorities to "easier" catch criminals when it is know that 70% of drug dealers are white. People are not racist, because people have no power to be racist. The system is, The system is, the system is. Simple, We live in a racist system, and don't denie it because I have been a victom. But that's ok, because some over come, and fight the fight to end it. Rap music is coming from the same point of view I'm coming from, with no racial lines. The message is there, as these people have had the same experience. Some artist get mad at their misfortions, others get political, others just ignore it and make money off white fans. Either way, their are many people, and they take thinks different. I'm saying, why should I ignore a system that doesn't want me to sucessed. Shit, I'm a self made man, ask Pink, no one but me, and my brains pay for my college, my books, and more and more, my cloths, food, and shoes. I've risen, others haven't, my job is not to say, "theirs no racism, get up because I'm doing well so you should" NO!!!!!!!! My job is to help my community get up. I am part Native American, White, & Black. So, I guess I can see where everyone is coming from. The Native American's were descriminated against more than the Blacks, especially up in Canada when the British and the French came over. They killed a lot of Natives. Today, Natives are still descriminated against more than the Blacks are. When I went up to Canada to visit my relatives, which are Natives, it turned out that the government put sanctions on their fishing rights (they were not allowed to fish). That is how alot of Natives up there make a living. Now tell me that is not descrimination. Some Natives are forced to live on reservations also.

Now coming from a black point of view, yes some blacks are still descriminated against by the whites. But like my Uncle's friend said (he is Black), "You can't hate a whole race just because a few people who belong to that race are ignorant".

And yes, I agree with Lost Angel, if you are offended by the lyrics then don't listen to the song.
