The REAL reason Detox is taking so long...
« on: January 27, 2011, 11:09:01 PM »
It's clear that Dre is in his midlife crisis.
All that working out, the feud with D.O.C. (go to HipHopDX for the article), releasing 2 singles which he didn't produce, etc... are all a proof his state of mind has changed.

The midlife crisis is basically a male version of the menopause, and that is what Dre is in now. He's not stable anymore.
When he made the Chronic and 2001, he didn't do it out of obligation. He did it because of the love and because he had to prove something. Above all, he wanted to do it. I think he should have stopped with Detox as soon as he didn't feel like working on it anymore and concentrate on building careers at Aftermath. Instead of that he constantly doubts himself like a confused female and the result is a catastrophic label which has lost its glory and an album that ''may'' come out this year, featuring beats he didn't create...made because he HAD to do it.

The worst part of it all is that he lied to himself, not only to the fans. At least he's not as bipolar as Game, but face it, Dre was never the most confident guy on this planet. From his WCWC days, to the middle of the '90s where he said gangsta rap was dead, until his return a decade ago to him now working with Slim Da Lobsta and Justin Bieber. He clearly reached the peak of his instability with this corny single featuring a yelling Eminem... who is by the way clearly confused too...probably even more.
I truly feel sorry for Bishop, Eve, Stat Quo, Joell Ortiz, Rakim, Raekwon, Busta and the countless others.

One thing however, Dre always had: talent. But instead of using that to his advantage like a Kanye West or Timbaland, he's selling headphones (I bet it was all Jimmy's idea lol) and created this myth that is Detox, and ultimately Dr. Dre himself.

Wake up Dre.

While this analysis is bad, nothing beats when certain grown men were debating Dre's jeans and top in another thread

smh
You expect me to download an album that isn't real?  Sorry, but I can't sign this.

It's clear that Dre is in his midlife crisis.
I’d say it’s more clear that Internet hip-hop fans have run out of things to talk about.

All that working out, the feud with D.O.C. (go to HipHopDX for the article), releasing 2 singles which he didn't produce, etc... are all a proof his state of mind has changed.
He isn’t feuding with D.O.C. They just stopped working together.

Sounds to me like someone might have skipped on Health class. Menopause is physical. A midlife crisis is mental.

Instead of that he constantly doubts himself like a confused female and the result is a catastrophic label which has lost its glory and an album that ''may'' come out this year
Lost its glory? Em still got the highest numbers in hip-hop.

Until two weeks from now when he makes another career choice you don’t agree with and CLEARLY PEAKS with that!

I truly feel sorry for Bishop, Eve, Stat Quo, Joell Ortiz, Rakim, Raekwon, Busta and the countless others.
Why? They are all grown adults with successful careers who all have more money and spend less time crying about Dr. Dre than you do.

One thing however, Dre always had: talent. But instead of using that to his advantage like a Kanye West or Timbaland, he's selling headphones (I bet it was all Jimmy's idea lol) and created this myth that is Detox.
Your complaints are inconsistent. You’re talking about how he’s making Detox because he has to and now you’re talking about it like it’s a myth. Make up your mind.

These threads about Detox continue to get worse and worse. I’m ready for this thing to just drop so you people can move on with your lives. I’m convinced some of you are gonna need to go on suicide watch when the tracklisting comes out and it’s not “West Coast enough”.
