True but that guitar riff on the 2nd one hit soooo hard. I wish it was a solo track for Rakim. He KILLED that shit.

Man, i remember the day Blueprint 2 leaked.....i was hyped for that album because of this track....lol

anyway,  gotta say the original takes it.....however i still get the chills during the hook and beat build up between dre and rakim's verse.  He absolutely killed it

would've actually prefered just hearing dre, hittman's bridge, and rakim like it was originally intended.....guess i gotta settle with dj jam's version

I think I listened to the 2nd one 10 times before I got to the rest of the album. Shame Rakim never got a album out on Aftermath. I am digging through my cds and pulled this one out and have not stopped bumping it since.

to be honest i dont think i've ever listened to that album fully.  i used to skip jay's part (1:53 mark) lol and just go from there.  when i look back on it, i wish rakim would've released his album then.  but, i dont think it would've lived up to the internet hype at the time.

I personally like that album more than the 1st Blueprint. I still think the 1st one is a better overall album but the 2nd had more dynamic singles. I think released it would have done what it supposed to do and then some.

First one is a classic.  2nd one is really nice too though.  Always liked that they made it sound similar to the original but added the extra elements like the 007 music.  And yes, they all did their thing, but Rakim ripped his verse. Had me hyped for that "Oh My God" album.  Too bad that never went down.

Both are classics to me. Dre- one of the best when it comes to the remix

To me, the original "The Watcher" is one of the alltime greatest hip-hop tracks. Second one is nice.

The original, everything on that is Dr Dre at his finest. The scratching at 1:58 mins  :o

The sequel, lyrically sharp but the music sounded like an off-key 007 theme. Still dope though.

Definitely The Watcher  8)

classic track, and great opener for 2001.

Watcher II is still dope though.

1st one hands down imo. and if it would have Rakim on it, we wouldn't even have this conversation...
